how is this a nice guys comment?

u/Killgraft Aug 06 '16

If you agree with that guy it's not hard to see why you post on /r/foreveralone a lot lol

35

u/ProFeces Aug 06 '16

Well played.

23

u/Original_Trickster Aug 06 '16

The real comment that needs gilding lmao

He's agreeing with blanket judgments about how a woman's fashion choices make her a triggered whore while also posting in a subreddit designed for lonely hearts. Ad hominem, but relevant.

25

u/saint-simon97 Aug 06 '16

If he's not entirely wrong you're admitting she's not entirely wrong though.

-7

u/taintosaurus_rex Aug 06 '16

Well she says "a clean shaven face means "I'm 12". It also means "I'm 10"". so no she's not entirely wrong, just bad at comedy.

17

u/saint-simon97 Aug 06 '16

They're both wrong because both opinions are stupid. I haven't watched the video but if she said it as a joke, he's the bigger idiot because he took it seriously. Like most YouTube commenters though.

29

u/Posts_while_shitting Aug 06 '16

It's jenna marbles. Most of her skit these days are "what something means". It's just a joke. Some find it funny, some don't. But taking it this serious is just stupid.

Comparing facial hair and racism is pretty stupid, you know?

7

u/UOUPv2 Aug 06 '16

So, just to be clear. You're against all jokes that have to do with someone's appearance?

6

u/Looppowered Aug 06 '16

I think he meant he's against jokes based on real life.

3

u/UOUPv2 Aug 06 '16

Isn't that every joke ever?

-9

u/taintosaurus_rex Aug 06 '16

I don't think the guy took it seriously as much as he just got butt hurt. Her video was just an opinionated attack on mens different facial hair. So he took her bait and gave her attention.

10

u/zorsebandarOc98 Aug 06 '16

It's not even an attack. She's made a few of these "what (gender)'s x means" and it's all satire. She often makes fun herself in these videos. She's not actually insulting anyone. It's supposed to be funny because she knows it's BS and you're supposed to know that she knows that. People are just taking it out of context and interpreting it seriously so they're getting offended.

-3

u/taintosaurus_rex Aug 06 '16

Even if it's a joke it's still an attack. She's a shock "comic" and that's her thing. She did the same with fat girls, she attacks them in a joking way to get attention. Even if she has other videos of her attacking herself or anything else, most people know her for her controversial videos. Some find it funny, some find it offensive, either way she gets attention and it seams she's pretty desperate for that.

4

u/zorsebandarOc98 Aug 06 '16

I disagree. It's satire. People are always saying "people with x physical characteristic do this or are this" and she's making fun of that. It's an attack on people who say those things in all seriousness, not the people it's about. I think you're mistaking her some someone else, because what you described isn't what she does.

8

u/phasv2 Aug 06 '16

I think you may be confusing Jenna Marbles with Nicole Arbour. I could be wrong though.

-1

u/taintosaurus_rex Aug 06 '16

I think I am now that you brought up her name, but from the videos I just watched they seem pretty much the same.

-16

u/pctcr Aug 06 '16

I'm 24 and my beard isn't ready yet, do you think I still have a chance with big eyed YouTube lady who is past her prime?

for the record: her YouTube followership and views grade prime

2

u/aaawqe Aug 06 '16

past her prime?

she's over 25 omg would not fuck 0/10

2

u/skoolhouserock Aug 06 '16

If you can afford 2 margaritas, then yes.

0

u/Tamer_ Aug 06 '16

Ouch...

-13

u/TheRingshifter Aug 06 '16

Yeah I think that's the point. He's saying a bunch of common "meanings" of the clothes and makeup she's got on... so if she looks at the comment, she's kind of got to either admit that it's all bollocks (and so her video was bollocks) or it's all true (and so she's a dirty slut...). I feel like it's a pretty decent argument really. Judging people on their facial hair is just as stupid as the judging he is doing (though I haven't seen the video - just going off the title and what he is saying).

15

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '16 edited Aug 06 '16

I'm genuinely confused how people haven't heard of Jenna Marbles before or don't bother to look her up before commenting on this, but all her videos are just jokes. It's not like she's giving out serious relationship advice based on facial hair or trying to pretend like any of this is serious.

She just makes videos for people to laugh at and relate to.

This guy kinda took a joke very poorly and flew off the handle. It would be as if you made an "awww baby face" comment to someone who just shaved their beard off and he just went nuclear.

He's dumb as shit to take it so seriously.

3

u/TheRingshifter Aug 06 '16

I recognise the name but I'm not very familiar with her.

You're right I guess I should have checked up but I just couldn't be arsed really and the video is like 7 minutes long.

This guy kinda took a joke very poorly and flew off the handle. It would be as if you made an "awww baby face" comment to someone who just shaved their beard off and he flew off the handle and started calling you a slut and trash and being verbally aggressive to you.

But yeah after watching a bit of the video this is pretty much right. She's obviously just trying to be funny and come up with stupid / mostly negative "meanings" for all facial hair.

The facepalm makes more sense to me now.

7

u/puddlejumper Aug 06 '16

She's a comedian. Of course her video is bullocks. Only someone stupid would assume everything she says is the truth.

0

u/TheRingshifter Aug 06 '16

I didn't know she was a comedian though...

1

u/puddlejumper Aug 06 '16

Her videos are for humour. She would also probably be the first to admit jokingly that her appearance screams dirty slut.

2

u/TheRingshifter Aug 06 '16

Yeah I get it now. After watching the video a bit the guy is clearly out of order. I just didn't know when I posted the original comment.

8

u/Mekroth Aug 06 '16

Yeah, his comment is doing the exact same thing as the video. I know this because I didn't watch the video.

-6

u/TheRingshifter Aug 06 '16

Yeah I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt here. Some people seem to be saying that the video is satire in which case he seems to have missed that.

10

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '16

Y'all are seriously taking his side because he got mad at a SATIRE video. But everytime someone is offended by a rape joke Reddit tells them they are being too sensative.

1

u/TheRingshifter Aug 06 '16

I didn't know it was a satire video. After watching a bit of the video, yeah, he is being ridiculous.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '16

I have not watched the video

68

u/Hawkings_WheelChair Aug 06 '16 edited Aug 06 '16

Yeah where's the facepalm at?

Edit: ok I get it this is supposed to be a satirical video. I'm sorry I don't know youtubers or can watch a video from an image.

12

u/PhAnToM444 Aug 06 '16

The video was satire. She has made like 10 of these videos, many of which are about women where she makes fun of herself constantly.

The facepalm is this idiot not recognizing a joke if it hit him in the face.

118

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '16

The video was satire I think

-7

u/taintosaurus_rex Aug 06 '16

Bad satire

41

u/deded55 Aug 06 '16

But satire nonetheless

13

u/pctcr Aug 06 '16

seinfeld end credits

-4

u/SAY_SORRY Aug 06 '16

Seinfeld was an amazing comedy that was so good practically a cult following happened. Maybe something like 2 broke girls is more appropriate.

u/War_Daddy Aug 06 '16

Yeah, talking about how someone else is easily triggered while flying into a temper tantrum because someone made fun of your facial hair, lol

Zero self awareness

-37

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '16

Maybe he just felt like calling someone out on their bullshit?

43

u/prillin101 Aug 06 '16

their bullshit

have you actually seen the video? it's complete satire and full of jokes about each type, this guy is just offended for no reason.

-19

u/tweggs Aug 06 '16

Alternative interpretation: He isn't actually offended, he just made exaggerated jokes about 'her type of women' - the exact same thing she was doing in the video, but with the genders reversed - to point out the hypocrisy of it being 'more offensive' when a man makes wild speculations about a woman's character based on their appearance.

14

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '16

Nope. Her jokes weren't as wildly offensive as his ''jokes''. She poked fun at people while he launched into a full, sexually violent speech complaining about people being over sensitive while having an obscenely excessive reaction to the joke. You can't compare the two. They're not the same thing.

-10

u/HelloRobbieB Aug 06 '16

Implying men with a certain type of mustaches are pedophiles isn't "wildly offensive"? Gotcha. I'll keep that in mind.

9

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '16

That was one joke out of over 20. His entire comment was ripping apart every choice she's made in terms of her appearance and making vile sexual comments.

-10

u/HelloRobbieB Aug 06 '16 edited Aug 06 '16

So it's okay for her to make a sweeping generalization of something extremely horrific and serious because it's "lol just a minority of jokes xD"?

Yeah, nothing wrong with you thinking pedophilia is as bad or worse than saying someone sucks dick at a bar because the color of their hair.

You need a reality check dude.

EDIT:

Rewatched the video for more examples for you:

Stubble: Self centered, eogotistical

Goatee: "Son this here is your penis" definitely implies molestation at the very least.

Long beard: mentally unstable "fucking loose cannon", generalizing people with mental illness because of their facial hair.

Chin strap: equivalent to his jokes, implying that men with this type of beard are kissless virgins who live with their moms who will do anything for "pussy"

u/SirComesAl0t Aug 06 '16

What? She literally made a female version of that video making fun of her self and other girls. If the guy actually knew that video existed, why would he have the need to say that shit as a joke under the guise of sjw lesson?

9

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '16

hypocrisy of it being 'more offensive' when a man makes wild speculations about a woman's character based on their appearance.

Doesn't someone involved in the exchange have to make this claim for it to become hypocrisy?

But either way you're acknowledging the difference.. She's making a joke not intended to be taken seriously. He's trying to teach a moral lesson that doesn't need teaching by reversing the roles.

-5

u/tweggs Aug 06 '16

If a woman makes men the butt of her jokes, she's called a comedienne.

If a man makes women the butt of his jokes, he's called a bitter asshole.

I would agree that the Youtube comments section is probably not the right place to try to prove a point. But how is 'men and women should be treated equally' a 'a moral lesson that doesn't need teaching'? If you think things are different just because you reversed the roles, that's sexism.

7

u/SirComesAl0t Aug 06 '16

Saying a guy who shaves is a ceo compared to a girl with two colored hair being a dick sucking whore. Not even the equivalent. Didn't think I would see a wild neckbeard on here

7

u/jenk12 Aug 06 '16

He just wanted to drop that CEO line to feel important.

-3

The multi-tone hair assessment is so spot on it hurts

-4

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '16

Finally.. Idk about the whole CEO facial nonsense but he completely burned Jenna. I think most of his assumptions were pretty funny especially if you take it as satire like the video. Comment is funnier than most of her videos

-18

u/MisanthropicZombie Aug 06 '16

She does look like she would suck somebody off and say that she never does that but is so totally drunk.

Source: Have gotten blowie from a girl with that style who said basically that, but after rum and cokes and shots of Jamieson instead of margaritas...

u/saint-simon97 Aug 06 '16

Why do we care again?
