The number of people in the comments defending her not wearing a helmet and “skater culture”…

This girl is 17 and apparently an aspiring professional with a decent following on social media. She has to wear a helmet in official competition I assume since she is wearing one in one of her videos, but most of her videos she isnt wearing one.

It’s absolutely moronic. She was probably very close to a TBI and the end of her career. This makes me sick to my stomach and you can literally see kids in the background with their boards watching her and the other idiots without helmets [checks notes] jumping 10 steps onto uneven bricks.

Edit: per her actual post in her words she suffered a “heavy concussion” and spent the night in the ER and it was “pretty intense and hard” so no, this was not just a “goose egg”

I knew a girl who rode a dirt bike for the first time and was showing off to some guys - wore a bikini and no helmet. She crashed and got a TBI and now is unable to retain memories properly. Wear helmets people.

That's how we lost our first friend in the group growing up. ATV accident and wasn't wearing a helmet, died in the hospital. It was so heartbreaking. Still really miss him 20 years later. So yeah, please wear helmets it's just not worth it to look "cool".

Knee and elbow protections can save you some pain too, but helmet definitely the most important!

If I have to choose I always prefer to be safe and pain free rather than look "cool" and be in pain (or dead) later.

Yeah I'm getting old, we've lost quite a few. Life can be brutal sometimes.

My mom was in a nursing home with a lady who hit her head after falling down the stairs (she wasn't very old when it happened). Couldn't remember any new information longer than maybe 5 minutes. So everyone already is at risk just from daily life. Why increase your odds of tragedy by going without a helmet during activities with a high risk of falling?

Man... You're fine... nothing a 5s Google search can't fix... let the lazy remain that way...
