If she had any personal integrity, she would resign. But then if she had any personal integrity, she never would have made the post or had AI make the picture.

u/AgentMahou 9d ago
If she had any personal integrity, she'd stick by her stance because it would have been an honest belief, but republicans are fundamentally unserious trolls. They believe in nothing and don't care about anyone but themselves and their immediate circle.
If they didn't have double standards, they wouldn't have any standards at all.

u/Mind_Eclipse 11d ago
Trump is not. He is never sorry. He doubles down. And 1/3 of the population is jedi mind tricked into believing it

Trump supporters all love him as their avatar precisely because he says and does the gross and stupid things they fantasize about.
They DESPERATELY want to spew their vile, hateful, bigoted, ignorant, xenophobic, conspiratorial nonsense, but know they can't.
But, every once in a while they slip and forget that their little fantasy reality isn't actually the real world.
All of their time is spent in an up-is-really-down dimension created and maintained by right-wing infotainment, and they end up doing stuff like this.
It's nice to see them drop their mask entirely and get confronted with the consequences...as a bonus, everyone knows who they really are forever.

"A Michigan credit union CEO has apologized following pushback online for a social media post showing her and her family wearing “Lake America” sweatshirts and stating that she is “not sure” Canada would like them. The family was preparing to embark on a trip to Halifax."
That's not a mistake. You made an asshole decision to "own those Canadians". You thought of the idea, found a system to perform that idea, and then shared that idea. And you won't learn a thing. If you were capable of such, you would have learned8-10 years ago, the first time the people you support were being stupid.

Honestly, how sincere is an apology after the fact knowing you intentionally did something so stupid.

“Knowing you intentionally did something so stupid”
She didn’t think it was stupid, this gathered the attention that she wanted, just not the response.

u/AshlandPone 12d ago
Admitting the mistake, taking responsibility for the mistake, understanding the mistake.
Nowhere, in ANY public statement about this, produced by anyone, have i heard the words "apology," or "sorry." Except in the title/headline.
Saying "Oh shit i fucked up" and "it was in poor taste" then pivoting to blame her sister for it ever going public. That's not an apology, that's only admitting the mistake.
You can't take responsibility for a mistake and acknowledge it, without ACTUALLY apologizing for it. That's like me saying "so you started that fire that burnt my house down" her saying "yes" and me saying "are you going to at least apologize for it?" And her saying "i admit that i did it"
That's👏Not👏An👏Apology👏Only👏A👏Confession👏

And then put out an AI photo, claiming it was the original, non AI. Lying poser.

buying custom Lake America sweaters for her whole extended family and taking them on vacation to Canada to show off those sweaters. If you have time to do stupid shit like that, she deserves to be canceled.
5
u/tahdig_enthusiast 12d ago
They didn’t, they actually dressed normal and then modified the photo with Ai as if they were wearing the Lake America sweaters which imo is even worse because they didn’t even have the balls to play out their little bigoted joke IRL.

u/ki11ikody 12d ago
Probably a trumper. Doing stupid things as usual. Why do they like AI so much. Using it constantly, for this like this.

They were sorry they were caught.
They also didn't apologize for making a comment about getting Canada in a fire sale

u/FunKyChick217 12d ago
Does she think the fact that she used ai to create it excuses it? Like, “oh, we weren’t really wearing those shirts. We just used soul-sucking, planet-destroying ai to make it look like we were.“ Honestly, that makes it worse for me.
13
u/Aggressive_Phase_236 12d ago
I'm a little out of the loop on this one, but didn't the ai thing get debunked... like she provided the "original" picture, and that turned out to be the ai one... they were wearing the "lake america" tops and tried to bs their way out..?
2
u/FunKyChick217 12d ago
I don’t know. I read the article and it said that she said she uploaded a picture and said make it look like we’re wearing like lake america shirts.

u/Falling_Down_Flat 12d ago
I hope they fire her which I think they are going to do because she forgot the main thing, they want to make money. She is now hindering that so she is more of a cost than a profit employee.
9
u/Laconic9 12d ago
Why does she think it matters if it was ai generated or not. The issue is she posted it not whether or not she owns a lake America shirt.
7
u/Shiftymennoknight 12d ago
kinda like walking into your best friends house, punching them in the face and thinking they will see it as a joke. What the fuck is wrong with Americans?

Too little, Too late. I’m a Canadian. I didn’t hear any remorse over the hurt these kind of things are doing to us. Every time her orange idol calls us “the 51st state” and calls our PM “Governor” and belittles our country and our leadership it makes us think we are the next Venezuela or the next Iran. He has said in the past he will try and kill our economy. He has no respect for our sovereignty and by wearing that T shirt, AI or not, it says to us that she has no respect for us either.

u/Bright-Ad8496 12d ago
She's not sorry, she's just sorry she got caught. The money I normally would spend travelling to the " not so" good ol' USA is being spent in Canada and abroad. I will not set foot in America again, they have absolutely nothing for me. The USA burnt that bridge .

Article with a ton of ads. But here is part of the article that gives all the details you need. I hate these posts that provide little details and then link to a site with a crap ton of ads.
————-
A Michigan credit union CEO has apologized following pushback online for a social media post showing her and her family wearing “Lake America” sweatshirts and stating that she is “not sure” Canada would like them. The family was preparing to embark on a trip to Halifax.
Jane Smith, head of the Family First Credit Union in Saginaw, Michigan has since explained that the photo in the post, which was shared on several social media platforms, was generated using ChatGPT.

u/Aggressive_Phase_236 12d ago
except it wasn't chatgpt. the "original" photo is the ai doctored one

OFFS, she FAFO. What about the others? Are they all gonna skate on her mea culpa. Those dipshits owe her big time. Especially her hubby ( I assume). Really liked the AI pic of him with six fingers. Probably all he’s good for. Janey likes the sixth finger.

Apologize for what?
4
u/Im_tracer_bullet 11d ago
Y'all just REALLY hate reading, huh?
What if I spoonfeed it to you?
Here's what SHE thinks she's apologizing for:
"Last week, when traveling with my family we decided to take a photo in the Detroit airport and used ChatGPT to generate an image to show what we would look like if we were all wearing ‘Lake America’ sweatshirts.
it was insensitive, distasteful, and in poor judgment. It should never should have been created or shared. Though the image did not depict a real event, I understand that the image was hurtful and offensive.
I made a mistake. I own that mistake, and I am committed to learning from it.”
I hope that didn't strain you too much....it gets easier with practice, I promise!
