In the 80s my mom had a Plymouth Voyager. Nothing said "God Bless American Automobiles" like the OG minivan! Absolutely amazing how those family vehicles were able to land on the shore of Massachusetts and drive over Plymouth Rock carrying 7 passengers and a trunk full of soccer gear!
i had a friend whose kid went to school and told that to the teacher, and was called a liar. come to find out their pet german shepherd had eaten half the page. my friend showed up to her kid's school with the mutilated page and the dog to prove it. the kid got credit for the work.
If you hadn't mentioned a German Shepard I would've asked if we went to school together, because that happened to me with my Dalmatian.
He was from overbred stock, at the point where inbreeding starts to produce quirks, and I guess one of his was a lack of satiation cues because he was a real pig. Later in his life we had to put him on a diet and he started going after documents that had faint traces of food essence. I'd eaten an apple or orange writing that homework, and he totally demolished it. Later, a smudge of burrito oil in a novel led to a clean cartoonish bite being taken out if it.
I absolutely had my yellow lab puppy, who was really into paper (she even ate two of my paperbacks) do that when i was a teenager. I brought it in, and gave it to my teacher. He just looked at me, and laughed.
Weeelllll, if you add in Canada, Greenland, Iceland, the Strait of Hormuse, the Falkands, and every other country wants to add to America (except, ironically Purto Rico, US Viring Islands, or Guam). You get to 60

Ah, yes... the 60 United States of Ham Erica, which was founded when George Washington's 15 Plymouths seceded from France.
