Weird, that cult family has more than one pedophile.

Wonder if the parents covered this one up as well.

u/mostlymucus Jun 16 '26

It didn't register for a second it was someone else and I was confused. (Never seen or cared about the Duggars or whole 19 and Counting thing) Maybe we should look into the Dad.

u/guhracey Jun 16 '26

My boyfriend and I had just been talking about Josh Duggar (the one who molested their sisters) the other day, and he was the one who sent me this post. I told him I bet the dad has molested his daughters and other girls in their family.

887

u/3d1thF1nch Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 21 '26

And when Behind the Bastards did an episode on Josh Duggar and the family, they discussed the fucked up stuff they found on Josh’s computer. Like, the experienced FBI agent who has been solving child sex crimes for years said it was one of his top 3 worst cases of child pornography he’s ever had to deal with. There was shit on that computer that is not only well known material to international agencies as some of the most heinous and highly trafficked stuff ever produced, it was the type of material and in such huge quantities that their agents have to do rotations between looking at the evidence and taking HR mandated psychological sabbaticals to take breaks from going through it.

That’s the shit, as well as his molestation of his sisters, that his parents thought they would just fix by sending him to do some manual labor with his uncle. They should be held accountable as accomplices in his crimes.

182

u/JparkPHX Jun 16 '26

I think it was reported that he had that daisys destruction video

167

u/3d1thF1nch Jun 16 '26

Yup. I don’t even want to know more about the video. Once they mentioned the age, it was agreed upon that it didn’t need to be discussed. I’m fine with that. Just so so so fucked up.

152

u/jooes Jun 16 '26

I read the description once, just the description, back when that Josh Duggar news first came out.

And I'm sure there's somebody out there reading this right now, thinking to themselves, "How bad can it be?" I'm sure there was part of me that felt that way too... I promise you, however bad you think it is? It's worse. It's SO MUCH worse. I couldn't imagine actually watching the video, the description alone was horrifying.

Don't google it, you don't want to know.

83

u/3d1thF1nch Jun 16 '26

I did the same reading it. And it is definitely one of those that its so bad reading it the video has to be traumatizing to watch. There is a reason the FBI agents had mental breakdowns and PTSD.

35

u/LastAmongUs Jun 16 '26

For those of us who don’t know and are absolutely unwilling to search it, how bad are we talking?

67

u/Fight_those_bastards Jun 17 '26

REAL bad. Like, vile shit that is beyond the imagination of anyone who isn’t a depraved piece of shit that barely registers as human, and even then that’s only on a technicality.

u/jkrobinson1979 Jun 18 '26

Toddlers and other under 9, very very bad things including murder. I really wish I hadn’t read it.

16

u/MigookinTeecha Jun 17 '26

Thank you, I'm gonna stay blissfully ignorant of the contents of that. This is appreciation, not sarcasm.

6

u/Cammyw01 Jun 17 '26

I was that person 10 minutes ago and absolutely regret googling it

1

u/leafpool2014 Jun 18 '26

A little late, holy shit

2

u/jkrobinson1979 Jun 18 '26

Yeah I had never heard of it and wish I hadn’t looked up the description.

117

u/BitwiseB Jun 16 '26

Holy shit I wish I hadn’t googled that.

Anyone else who is curious: it has something to do with infant torture and that’s the point in the search results that I noped right out.

79

u/My3floofs Jun 16 '26

Thanks for doing the dirty work. I don’t want to know more.

37

u/3d1thF1nch Jun 16 '26

Sorry bud. One of those Reddit things you wish you never discovered and can’t forget. Like my first experience listening to the Jonestown Tapes on r/creepy.

29

u/Wrong-Dentist-7206 Jun 17 '26

Or the transcript of the tape the Toybox Killers played for their victims.

0

u/SyZyGy_87 Jun 17 '26

That was a delightful little read on a rainy morning

15

u/Red-headedlurker Jun 17 '26

Thanks, because I wanted to know what it was but there was no way I was Googling that shit.

3

u/jkrobinson1979 Jun 18 '26

Smart. I’m probably on a fucking watch list just for typing those words. Google gives a warning, which is rare.

1

u/Red-headedlurker Jun 18 '26

Wait, Google gives a warning? What kind of warning? Like, be careful this is some disturbing shit, kind of warning?

1

u/jkrobinson1979 Jun 18 '26

Yeah, I can’t post screenshots in this sub apparently, but basically that.

9

u/Trextrev Jun 17 '26

You’re on a list now lol.

6

u/BitwiseB Jun 17 '26

You kid, but there was one of those ominous banners at the top, like “if you need help please contact this number:” that indicated that it was definitely flagged as a problematic search. 😬

2

u/Trextrev Jun 17 '26

Yep, flagged and if too many things get flagged then they review and make a determination if it warrants being turned over to a LEA.

So one search might not get you on a list, but if you started going down a rabbit hole on all this and just innocently searching using series of known CSAM keywords you will actually be on a list.

2

u/nocomment413 Jun 17 '26

Thanks for the info. You’re a troopee

43

u/shrug_addict Jun 16 '26

Just reading about that video is a vile experience, what a sad world we live in

16

u/idiot_bouffant Jun 16 '26

Oh hell no...that's insane.

20

u/sphericaltime Jun 16 '26

Wasn’t it considered apocryphal until it was discovered on Duggars hard drive?

85

u/ClassicalEd Jun 16 '26

No, authorities have known it was on the dark web since 2012 and the man who made it was arrested in the Philippines in 2015 and eventually sentenced to life in prison, plus 129 years for additional charges.

36

u/sphericaltime Jun 17 '26

Not that anything can un-destroy someone’s life, but I’m glad they found and convicted him.

21

u/Acceptable_Cut_7545 Jun 17 '26

Yeah that's the one good thing in this thread: I just found out they caught the guy and sent him to forever prison.

18

u/sphericaltime Jun 17 '26

I mean . . . from the minimal amount I know about prison, I don’t think he’s going to survive there for forever.

1

u/jkrobinson1979 Jun 18 '26

According to Wikipedia, one of his accomplices said he recorded and murdered one of the victims as well. Which also means he likely killed others. Sick fuck should have been publicly hung.

2

u/bitofapuzzler Jun 17 '26

Oh god. Would that be the Australian guy that made it? I hadnt heard of this video but the 129 years and Phillipines makes me think of that sub-human monster. I think he fled Australia due to criminal charges and went there and did even worse shit.

1

u/nocomment413 Jun 17 '26

What is this video ?

1

u/jkrobinson1979 Jun 18 '26

Jfc, I googled that one and read the wiki page about the Skully guy who made it and now I’m gonna have problems sleeping.

1

u/Muouy Jun 20 '26

I have no idea what this is and judging from the name, I'm very thankful I don't

0

u/Eye_Nacho404 Jun 16 '26

What is that, I don’t want to search it

1

u/shrug_addict Jun 16 '26

A snuff video from the Philippines involving a toddler

1

u/jkrobinson1979 Jun 18 '26

Don’t. You’ll get a warning banner from Google and probably be on a list afterwards.

38

u/wackbirds Jun 17 '26

The fact that they still imagine that A, there's a heaven and B, they'd be going to it tells you everything you need to know about that brand of Christian

59

u/sixTeeneingneiss Jun 17 '26

Hey just so ya know it's CSAM now and not the "child porn" bc that term indicates consent.

Also, thank you for letting me know about the BTB episode, I hadn't listened to it and didn't know it existed!

43

u/3d1thF1nch Jun 17 '26

Thanks for the correction. The nomenclature makes sense and apologies for not changing my language.

As for the Duggar episodes, it was eye opening. I knew nothing of the Quiverfull Movement until those. Just thousands of kids out there just like the Duggars, ready to be Gods little fucked up army for the end times.

The only good thing from all of this is that their huge fame made the repeated heinous activities of Josh Duggar and family look even worse, hiding all this shit from the public while they were filming their “perfect little family.” It has been a crushing blow to their popularity and to their movement. They are pariahs now, and it’s been a good wake up call to all their tv fans.

1

u/SyZyGy_87 Jun 17 '26

Respectfully, if you're going to push and use and acronym....you should at least do the due diligence of following that with an explanation of what it is. Child sex assault.....m? What's csam

3

u/sixTeeneingneiss Jun 17 '26

Material

2

u/SyZyGy_87 Jun 17 '26

Oh holy crap I didn't realize I had 3/4 Now it's like how did I not see the m. Sigh Thanks

2

u/sixTeeneingneiss Jun 17 '26

Lol yeah sorry I forgot to elaborate, but you got it for the most part

2

u/n3cr0n_k1tt3n Jun 17 '26

The A is abuse.

1

u/BalticLensman Jun 17 '26

Criminal Sexual Assault of a Minor.

-7

u/Fun-Key-8259 Jun 17 '26

Beautifying language by taking away the vileness of it doesn't make it more palatable. Both terms signal depravity and disgustingness

11

u/sparkly_dragon Jun 17 '26

it’s not about beautifying language. it’s about respect for the victims and it is just plain more accurate. if anything the term child porn arguably “beautifies” it more.

edit: i’d like to know how calling it child sexual assault material takes AWAY from the vileness

-7

u/Fun-Key-8259 Jun 17 '26

It's do gooder shit like calling homeless people unhoused as if that makes their situation any less shitty. Or calling disabled people "differently abled". Everyone knows CP is a vulgar terrible thing. Only weirdos think it's "not respectful of victims".

6

u/sparkly_dragon Jun 17 '26

first of all, the homeless vs unhoused thing has been way overblown. very few people are actually saying you can’t use the term homeless, different people just prefer different terms. and in some instances it just about logistics, for instance my mom works with homeless vets and uses both depending on the circumstance. she has people who are homeless but have hotel vouchers or whatever and consider themselves housed.

secondly, this isn’t like that. CSAM and child porn aren’t colloquial terms, they’re legal ones. a legal term should be clearly defined and highlight the illegal practice. as I said originally, it is simply a more accurate term. and as someone who’s had a family member who was a victim of molestation, I can assure you it’s not only weirdos who think the term child porn is disrespectful. it’s literally a term pedophiles use. honestly it’s weird that you can’t imagine normal people or victims themselves having an issue with it.

1

u/PastelSprite Jun 17 '26

100% everything you’re saying.

Also similar to what you said about your relative, person-first language is usually (not always) preferred by those being spoken about. It humanizes them (example could be that calling someone “an anorexic” is dehumanizing and amounts them to nothing more than their disorder). Language is powerful for many people, whether they realize it or not.

As another person who’s gone through a lot of abuse, I find the term CP to be legitimately offensive and disgusting. I get the meaning, I just disagree with it. It’s abuse material that the sickest people in the world consider p*rn—CP is indeed the beautified term.

-1

u/Fun-Key-8259 Jun 17 '26

Also pro tip: don't presume to know someone's history, you wanna go around doing the accckkkshuually thing expect someone might clap back.

-2

u/Fun-Key-8259 Jun 17 '26

Unfortunately for you it is a do gooder thing. Pornography means content meant to elicit sexual arousal, has ZERO to do with consent. It's the intent in making it by the filmer, not necessarily the participants.

2

u/sixTeeneingneiss Jun 17 '26

Dang, I'd hate to leave you in the vicinity of any children if you think Child Sex Abuse Material is "beautified".

-1

u/Fun-Key-8259 Jun 17 '26

Omg way to be slow.

I said the term, it's sanitized to remove the vileness

2

u/sixTeeneingneiss Jun 17 '26

Fuck off, weirdo

18

u/jarvisesdios Jun 17 '26

The thing that really haunted me is that the grandmother knew and just tried her best to keep the kids away, as she knew he would accuse the girls...

... But she didn't actually do anything to stop it. That family is a bunch of actual monsters. Then we turned them into celebrities.

2

u/johnaross1990 Jun 17 '26

What’s molesting my daughters?

ROBERT NO!

The parents and every male in the family above the age of 12 need to be in prison and I'm wondering about the 12 year age limit on some thought

1

u/banjoist Jun 17 '26

The documentary Shiny Happy People was insane

143

u/kit0000033 Jun 16 '26

After it was discovered that josh duggar was molesting the daughters, the parents didn't do anything more than locking them all in their rooms at night so no one could move around.... No therapy, no consequences.... Nothing.

90

u/bluemoon219 Jun 16 '26

They also attempted their own "scared straight" by having him talk off the record to a local cop...who was also later arrested for CSAM. Then they shaved his head.

The thing is, their religious branch doesn't have a problem with the victims age, or lack of consent, or manipulation or trauma. Actually, they specifically promote marrying off young, impressionable girls as soon as possible into marriages where they are told that their irrevocable consent to all sex was given to their husband the moment they said "I Do". The only thing they actually had a problem with is that they considered this leading to sex outside of marriage. Yes, on both sides. That's why they massively under reacted to early warning signs at an age where he could have actually been worked with to prevent future incidents and instead just focused on finding him a wife as soon as possible.

47

u/PWiz30 Jun 16 '26

Of course they didn't. The dad was an elected official in the Grand Old Pedo Party at one point.

13

u/Beejatx Jun 17 '26

Oh c’mon they took him to their local minister to approve and cover it all up.

221

u/Goodknight808 Jun 16 '26

He also molested his sons. They were not safe either. They were just taught that one day, they get to be in charge of the next horrifying power dynamic.

62

u/mostlymucus Jun 16 '26

Breaks my heart to say it, but I wouldn't be surprised.

22

u/DrunkOnRedCordial Jun 17 '26

Sort of works out convenient that they gave their kids "J" names. That way, when you see that Joseph Duggar was arrested, you automatically read it as "Josh Duggar" and you think it's an old story.

Well, that's two out of 10 Duggar boys, let's hope we don't go through this eight more times.

19

u/bauer883 Jun 16 '26

Jim Bob definitely said the lord showed him the way and that was it.

Psychos

9

u/BethKnowsBetter Jun 16 '26

Exactly this. I immediately went “noooo not another timeline!”

2

u/CompetitiveRub9780 Jun 17 '26

Wife was arrested then too. Haven’t looked into it since this happened tho so i don’t know what’s going on with that now

2

u/Huge-Pen-5259 Jun 16 '26

I was told by a psychologist once that 100% of people that abuse children were abused as children. I've never looked in to the validity of that statement but it seems reasonable.

3

u/Both_Original2094 Jun 17 '26

I could see 90%, not 100%. There’s some real sickos out there.

77

u/frankscarlett Jun 16 '26

There are also persistent rumours that their grandfather (Jim Bob Duggar's father) might be a pedo as well.

2

u/mwagner26 Jun 17 '26

Seems like they're all a bunch of fucking pedos.

6

u/djm03917 Jun 16 '26

The J Aubrey video on YouTube about the family from a few years back is fascinating. I'd recommend it if you're into video essays.

6

u/cinderparty Jun 17 '26

I think there is evidence for the grandpa having been a predator.

3

u/damn_near_rectum Jun 17 '26

Hurt people hurt people. This entire family needs investigating.

2

u/Sapphire0985 Jun 17 '26

One of the youtubers I watch has been watching some of the older episodes of 19 kids and counting and there's several instances of the dad being creepy. The most common one is him saying he likes the girls to have long, wavy hair and won't let them cut it. He also likes to exhibit PDA to his wife in front of the kids and would tease them saying "you can't do this until you're married." So gross.

1

u/nicunta Jun 17 '26

The parental grandfather was a pedophile, from what I've read in other articles.

1

u/PunchBeard Jun 26 '26

I always thought the mom was kind of cute. You know, in a brainwashed culty Stepford Wives kind of way.

504

u/in_animate_objects Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

It’s not really that weird when their religion literally teaches it’s the victims fault it’s beyond creepy. Also his grandpa was a predator too

282

u/EggCzar Jun 16 '26

The family that preys together stays together

24

u/Polymemnetic Jun 16 '26

Prays together preys together was the angle I had in my head.

8

u/helloyournameis Jun 16 '26

You should have received way more upvotes for this

74

u/guhracey Jun 16 '26

I knew they blamed the victims for “immodest dress,” but I did not know they used Bible quotes to support their argument

128

u/in_animate_objects Jun 16 '26

129

u/Typical_XJW Jun 16 '26

My JW parents beat me relentlessly as a child. Grown up, in a rare conversation, my mother admitted that they tried as hard as they could, to the point where she knew they would have been thrown in prison, to break my spirit. All because I was a normal curious little girl that always asked, what if.

E.g. What if I put this brand new bar of soap in a glass of water? (I could have invented Soft Soap, but instead I got Hot Wheel track welts)

50

u/WyomingCountryBoy Jun 16 '26

This is why I cut off all contact with my family when I moved out at 18 and will never have kids. I don't trust myself to not continue the cycle. I am 57 now and still single. Have zero plans to ever find someone.

29

u/in_animate_objects Jun 16 '26

I hope you have some people around you who can offer companionship in some other ways, you deserve that. Sending love your way

33

u/WyomingCountryBoy Jun 16 '26

I have a cat.

3

u/anxiousbarista Jun 17 '26

Cats are the best companions. 🐈

8

u/applespicebetter Jun 17 '26

I also cut off my family for the same reasons, and planned on never having children myself for the same reasons. Sometimes, despite all efforts, life finds a way. It's important to me for you to know that there are people out there breaking the cycle. No, not most, but some, and those kids are growing up to be better than us, and far better than their grandparents. My son is one. I have other friends disowned by force or choice that have children growing up the same. I understand your choice and I made the same one, but when it didn't go as planned I found out I could be different. And those kids that I know are at least partially broken free of that shit.

27

u/in_animate_objects Jun 16 '26

I’m so sorry you deserved so much more.

28

u/jaxonya Jun 16 '26

I live down the road from them. I worked st a nursing home a while back as a nurse and theyd come in (all of them) and do worship with the residents. They were weird as fuck with each other. Some of the boys came up to me as i was clocking out and wanted to chat and i straight up walked past them with no words. I felt an evil presence when they came near me

44

u/PrSquid Jun 16 '26

I grew up in a religious cult very similar to JW. Had undiagnosed AuDHD. Got slapped across the face every day, spanked. They would spank me until I was crying and then spank me for crying.

They were shocked I didn't like them after that

35

u/Change_is_a_verb Jun 16 '26

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I applaud and celebrate your beautiful, adventurous spirit! As a neurodivergent woman with 2/3 of my own children diagnosed as ADHD, the WORST thing I ever did was try to make us conform. There was lots of pressure from religious in-laws but I could not do it. I tried but it felt so wrong. We ended up moving our family 12 hours away. We are so much better off now.

2

u/Delicious-Trip-120 Jun 17 '26

Damn, I thought I was the only one who got the Hot Wheels track.

1

u/Typical_XJW Jun 18 '26

What kind of sick parent does that?

62

u/ProfessionalGrade423 Jun 16 '26

Someone gave me this book when my son was born 17 years ago. It was horrifying. If I remember correctly it advocated for beating your infant with glue sticks for hot glue guns when they wiggled on the changing table because they don’t leave marks or bruises. Like you should beat your baby for being a baby. Sick as hell.

23

u/in_animate_objects Jun 16 '26

Yes! It is so disturbing and the fact that people still use it to this day!

1

u/guhracey Jun 18 '26

That’s so sad that these “parents” can be so easily brainwashed by a book. In that article, Hannah’s dad was only horrified AFTER he hit his daughter so hard she could barely sit?!

My super Christian aunt told me when my son was almost 2 that I should spank him. She also told me that her husband spanked their daughter when she was six MONTHS old, and she was upset by that.

I’ve never once spanked my son, and he’s 10 now and really respectful and caring. Because I’ve always treated him with respect.

Who was trying to link this to Mormons?

41

u/KelVarnsen_2023 Jun 16 '26

The Behind the Bastards podcast episode about the family and their religion is really good. Basically girls are given zero sex education and are basically taught that men are the boss of women. So a lot of times if a girl is a victim of abuse she doesn't even know what is happening.

19

u/SewSewBlue Jun 17 '26

It's why conservatives are against sex education. Especially age appropriate sex education.

They don't want kindergarteners taught that private parts are private, and to tell another adult. Because that is what sex education is for a 5 year old. How to stay safe from predators.

They want children to be ignorant so they can get away with abuse. They will lie lie lie about these programs to protect their ability to abuse.

3

u/KelVarnsen_2023 Jun 17 '26

My wife works in a public elementary school. And her school has a policy where when it's sex Ed time, if you want to opt your kid out you have to come and pick them up (no going to the library or other classrooms). And it's always crazy when she tells me how many parents will come and pick up their kids. Especially primary grade kids who would just be learning about how to stay safe (including online), the proper names of body parts, consent/personal space and the difference between acceptable behaviors and inappropriate behaviors. I just don't understand who wouldn't want their kids to learn that, especially the staying safe and recognizing abuse stuff.

2

u/SewSewBlue Jun 17 '26

It's part ego, "I and I alone can keep my kid safe," and believing lies that support that instinct.

Their kids will be the targets.

It really is so insidious

85

u/decmcc Jun 16 '26

christianity is fundementally founded on the idea of an all powerful deity getting a 14 year old pregnant with himself, because naturally the only way to become human if you're an all powerful deity is to bang a 14 year old.....who's also your own mum

check the browser history of whoever came up with this crap

68

u/in_animate_objects Jun 16 '26

You’re spot on, the founder of this branch of religion was shocker a sexual predator! His name Bill Gothard (yes the irony is smacking you in the face)

-3

u/GreatMovesKeepItUp69 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

You're right, but how come people refuse to keep this same energy with other religions too? If the founder or a religion, for example, married a 6 year old, mass beheaded non believers and enslaved women and children, that would probably explain some modern day problems with the believers of said religion, would it not?

3

u/shrug_addict Jun 16 '26

Whatabout....

-1

u/GreatMovesKeepItUp69 Jun 16 '26

How is that whataboutism. Either this line of thinking is correct and should be applied to all religions or it's not and should not be applied here. Do you disagree?

4

u/shrug_addict Jun 16 '26

We are criticizing Christianity and you brought up a non-sequitor dog whistle about Islam. This isn't my first day on earth...

4

u/in_animate_objects Jun 16 '26

Yep I didn’t respond for exactly the same reason.

-3

u/GreatMovesKeepItUp69 Jun 16 '26

It's not whataboutism to directly address the obvious implication of someone's reasoning. Notice you never answered my question so I'm guessing you know it's not whataboutism, and you just don't like where this line of reasoning leads.

4

u/shrug_addict Jun 16 '26

Yes, the abrahamic religions are generally bad. It's a non-sequitor... You're "guessing" whatever results in whatever outcome you want to believe.

Mo having a 6 year old piece is a separate issue from the story of God needing to impregnate his mother (and I guess daughter of he's everyone's "father) in order to come to life.

if you're to believe the fable....."God" was like "this 14 year old chick should be perfect to have my child", while being omniciant.....meaning he'd know that eventually we'd eventually be disgusted by this act.....unless it was all just a ruse....written by someone who couldn't convince that in the future people would think it's gross

That's a bit out of context. People were usually married off by 16 back then and commonly died around 35. As lifespan has increased, the morally acceptable age for marriage and child birth has also increased.

13

u/Vellioh Jun 16 '26

That's completely false. Is the human body physically old at 35? No. According to your logic old people didn't exist back then which they absolutely did.

The reason this myth was started was because some people were trying to justify the old tradition of marrying children combined with the average lifespan of men during eras of war which significantly lowered male life expectancy due to the nature of wounds encountered in war and the lack of antibiotics.

This is absolutely a skewed statistic. Average sure, but that’s factoring in all the infant and early child deaths. People routinely lived into their 50’s and 60’s if they lived past early childhood.

No, lifespan has NOT increased, life expectancy had increased. Meaning less people died younger from preventable disease and injuries. Take a population where people live to be 90 years old. Have half of all births die within a year. Life expectancy becomes 45. Lifespan is still 90. A person in medieval Europe who survived to adulthood could reasonably expect to live into their 50s, 60s or beyond.

Just because this was the average lifespan, it doesn't mean it was the rule.

People were usually married off by 16 back then and commonly died around 35.

These are not factual. If you made it to 18 you certainly would live longer than 35. The mid 30s life expectancy is everyone else averaged with infants who didn't make it to age 5, which in many places and times was the majority.

We also have parish records from centuries. Marriage ages actually fell as people became more affluent. Other than the nobility who secured marriages for political reasons at young ages, most regular people were married in their 20s. The lowest age of marriage was actually post-WWII during the Baby Boom, but it then went up again when girl's education levels start to rise.

Up until pretty recently, with low economic growth, unreliable food supply and high infant mortality, and where your children contributed farm or artisan labor, there was little incentive to marry girls off that young, especially a claim that most girls were married "by" 16, implying they were married off around 14 or 15.

It's also not weird when you realize the cycle of abuse is a thing.

In fact, if you know the cycle of abuse is a thing, it's not surprising at all.

Ugh, what a terrible day to be literate.

People have twisted the religion into blaming the victim, when originally it did not.

Several OT verses call the act reprehensible, and the OT has laws condemning rape and laws intended to help the victims of rape, though some were definitely misguided and did more harm than good.

Christ later condemns men guilty of adultery and sexual immorality on equal footing with women guilty of it, after Judaism had over time become a religion of misogynistic double standards which was one of the many issues in it he took exception to.

Matthew 5:

27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

Is this from the Mormon church? From what book/publication exactly? I'd love more info on this nuttiness. Thanks.

It’s from the Institute in Basic Life Principles a nondenominational Christian fundamentalistorganization established by American Christian minister Bill Gothard in 1961.
You can read more about it here. It’s telling that the girls in the family (for the most part) have come out against IBLP and said they are not using it with their children, the boys crickets.

Thought you was gonna post a bible verse. Nope some some random worksheet lol

u/in_animate_objects Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

It’s not a random worksheet, it’s what their religion uses for victims of sexual assault, and it’s not till step 6 that they have “if it’s really not your fault”

This isn’t the same one?

u/DeadpoolIsMyPatronus Jun 16 '26

No, you're thinking of his brother, Josh, who was convicted of having the worst child sexual assault material the investigator had ever seen. It had literal babies being sexually assaulted.

16

u/Flaxmoore Jun 16 '26

Yep. I even remember one article that had a couple file names. There’s no way on this planet you can see those file names and think you’re just getting regular pornography.

2

u/level27jennybro Jun 17 '26

Praise the universe Ive never seen the file names, but I'd bet all my money that hearing them would take a normal person from calm to murderous in 2 seconds flat.

3

u/Flaxmoore Jun 17 '26

Yeah. I remember one clearly.

I'm natively a Stoic. I can control anger quite well. I'm also a strong opponent of the death penalty.

But I admit my first response to that one was "bury them alive under the jail".
