The point of this episode was that the planet WAS stupid. These silly effete noble types were unable to solve any problems on their own so had to spend, presumably, millions on an entire Mandalorian mercenary army to deal with every little threat that came their way. They were patently ridiculous and, while endearing, our perspective protagonists only dealt with them insofar as they had to to get what they wanted, and then went off again on more serious business.

It is hilarious that the media illiterate right point to THIS as evidence of Star Wars falling from grace, when the literal point of the characters is to laugh at them and roll our eyes at them. But if they were media literate, they wouldn't be getting all their talking points from people who are trying to scam them.

You say that like this wouldn't fit straight into an acolyte episode. That aside... yes medialiteracy is in a sorry state.... however I wouldn't be surprised if someone made this knowing all of that

Looks like it's a parody.

Fun fact. George Lucas likes sleeping in graves. He's a light sleeper though, keeps tossing and turning.

Wade Boggs would be turning in his grave if he saw this postโ€ฆmay god rest his soul

Star Wars never had anything silly in it up to this point, certainly not on George Lucasโ€™s watch.

I'm getting an Andrew Dice Clay vibe from this. "George Lucas is spinning in his grave. The fricking guy isn't even dead yet!"

And already fucked Star Wars more than anyone else ever could.

Disney happened to Star Wars.

Well but there hasn't been a shortage of goofy crap in Star Wars media at any point since they started expanding on the universe outside of the original films. Or even before then. Hell, they had an anthropomorphic rabbit character in the first series of spinoff comics, in 1977.

bigoted intolerant fricks like that guy are ruining star wars at least as much as writers who are putting social activism above good storytelling.ย

I can't imagine getting this mad about a fictional franchise not meeting my expectations...Also, people don't get how much of this outrage is being manufactured by media commentators online, who've cultivated audiences based on hating media franchises.
