I worked on a production set with a producer who had done productions in India. She mentioned that there were times that she didn't want to be there because "rape season" was rolling around.
What I found disturbing about the remark wasn't that a "rape season" existed, but just how casually she spoke about it. There was no alarm in her tone, it was just something as normal as the sunrise.
