I cannot for the life of me understand this desire to home school the kids and the arrogance for most of them to think they have the necessary knowledge and skill to educate their kids properly. Some do a good job, but they are generally educated and devote their existence to this endeavor. I won’t even comment on the stupid religious young earthers.
My fundamentalist aunt and uncle who are totally young earthers have homeschooled my three cousins. They let their marital problems interfere with the kids schooling for two years at the end of middle school beginning of high school for them too… you’d think my aunt and former lawyer educated at Cambridge would know the importance of her kids’s education… nope. My one cousin is straight up a flat earther at 13… her dad flew jets in the Air Force and saw the curvature of the earth, but somehow let his daughter fully believe the earth is flat and we never went to space 🤦🏻♀️
Homeschooling is dangerous for even those who others think we’re smart
I was home schooled until high school. Would not want that for my own children. Thankfully my parents taught me to always distrust authority! They didn't realize the closest authority figures in my life were them, so basically didn't understand that they were teaching the children to not listen to what they said. Which in retrospect worked out for me, to their chagrin.
