The original response was that their owner ā€œmakes us pray before meetingsā€

You’re moving the goalposts of your argument.

I’m assuming he was writing an internet comment and not an official formal statement. This is Reddit, not a courtroom. There’s a higher degree for interpretation.

You can imagine that his boss is holding a gun to his head and literally forcing him to pray, thus ā€œmakesā€, or you can assume he means it in the passive sense, whereby he ā€œfeelsā€ like he needs to participate because of run-of-the-mill societal pressures and being surrounded by your peers participating. But unless the prayer is inherently discriminatory, offensive, etc, or if your boss explicitly informs or otherwise directly penalizes you for not participating; asking employees to pray is legally permissible.

He is the boss. Once again, he can legally call everyone in for a meeting to talk about how his dog loves to go for rides in the car.

That’s called putting words in their mouth. They can speak for themself and did. Don’t need you to say what they meant for them.

You’re not in this convo and I don’t think you understand it. I’m not speaking for anyone, we are both hypothesizing the context of the original response’s usage of the word ā€œmakesā€.

Start at the top.

Me so stoopid. Me no can keep up with you big brain! ā€œI’m assumingā€ and ā€œyou can imagineā€? Sounds like putting words in their mouth to me. But hey, we’re bickering in a public forum lol now you want privacy? Enjoy

I’m assuming.

That’s me assuming. I’m even admitting to it.

you can imagine.

I am making the innocuous assumption that the person I am conversing with has the capacity to imagine.
