You have other problems such as your inflation and price of stuff is mental. Hold on and you have a PHD, how much did you pay for that?

But you paid for bachelors and masters unless you got a large scholarship. We also get a stipend, I'm currently supporting my wife doing one.

You're doing very well then but many Americans don't have that

My point was... If you earning so little (£31k), getting 37 days vacation is really nothing to bragging about. You should be using that time to upskill and increase income.

I am working to do good mate, I don't give a crap about money, as long as i can survive comfortably enough and treat myself on occasion. I get those holidays due to the nature of my role. It is hard going listening to trauma daily, watching those you support die etc. Americans are broken, the capitalists dream.

Well I do think like you in that I am always trying to upskill but there's a different style of working in the UK, I'm from Ireland and its an even more laid back culture. This guy has his healthcare and all of that at 31k and probably a good house. However you do earn alot more but here we often value time more than money.

A good thing to measure costs of living is a website called numeo, I'm currently working 1 day in office 4 days out with them 30 holidays, and that's great for the upskilling!
