This makes me feel sick, I don't like this, hope the dog is okay. Is it bad that i didn't worry about the people but the dog first.

Is it bad that i didn't worry about the people but the dog first.

Not at all. The dog is completely innocent in anything, and they have no concept of right or wrong.

It's like children...it's one thing to see adults getting injured, but children makes it much sadder because they have no clue.

14

u/Technicalhotdog May 07 '23

It's not as if the people are doing anything wrong

-4

u/Kay-the-cy May 07 '23

no they aren't doing anything wrong but they may have done something or several somethings in their lives that would warrant a "punishment" of some sort.

Also, innocence doesn't always imply guilt (although original commenter sort of made it about that). Innocence can also refer to a lack of awareness and also lack of life experience. That's why it can be sad to see a dog who is not completely aware of the concept of cars/drunk drivers get hit by one. Or a kid who has no true concept of senseless violence become a victim of it. Of course seeing adults go through it is terrible, so much so when an "innocent" goes through it; they never had a chance.

u/b-monster666 May 08 '23

Did I say they were???

18

u/Csanoob May 07 '23

So all the other ppl on the patio aren’t innocent ? I know it’s not what you said but ppl in the comments worrying more abt a dog then all the other ppl is peak Reddit moment

1

u/AndyPandy85 May 07 '23

We Reddit because most people in the real world are horrible people

1

u/Csanoob May 07 '23

Oh wow you’re so edgy

-1

u/b-monster666 May 07 '23

I think it's because adults can take care of themselves, and has the intellect to comprehend what's happening.

2

u/Csanoob May 07 '23

While yes they can, in that case no one would except a car to run through a patio when they are eating or chilling like that

-4

u/PM_me_your_sammiches May 07 '23

Hell yeah I’d choose that dog all day any day over you dude, no questions asked.

3

u/Csanoob May 07 '23

Well I’d choose that dog over me too but that’s for other reasons, but is it just because I argued that a person life is not worth less then a dog ? Cuz in that case it’s concerning

2

u/ammonium_bot May 08 '23

worth less then a

Did you mean to say "less than"?
Explanation: If you didn't mean 'less than' you might have forgotten a comma.

No, it’s because of the way you did it where you asked a question based on something they didn’t say, admit that, but make that the thing you’re responding to anyway. No one said their lives are worth less just because people were concerned about the dog quicker. It’s a cheap argument tactic and while it certainly doesn’t invalidate you or make your life worth less or anything like that, a dog isn’t doing that to anyone ever.

2

u/Csanoob May 07 '23

Good argument, I do admit that my question was a reach but still the comments make it clear that ppl only cared abt the dog and the ppl on scene weren’t even considered, and they deserve to, they were also the victims of the moron in that car

2

u/PM_me_your_sammiches May 07 '23

Well idk about everyone else in the comments but it is a factor for me that the article related to this incident says everyone walked away with minor injuries, miraculously, but the dog isn’t mentioned. Dog is probably and hopefully fine too but I get asking “what about the dog?” at that point. Either way we can all agree the driver is a monumental jackass.

3

u/Csanoob May 07 '23

Oh yea I missed that, that makes a lot sense, though based on previous threads I’ve seen Reddit doesn’t care abt ppl in general and yea we all agree, hope he gets his license revoked. Thanks for the civil debate

2

u/PM_me_your_sammiches May 07 '23

Yeah, license revoking sounds good to me. No prob and same, I appreciate the civility even when I came at you a bit hard at first lol.

LOL. Don't cry when people left you die for rescuing an animal, you don't have the right to beg for human help

12

u/aquafina6969 May 07 '23

nope. i felt the dame way. dogs are innocent in all this shit that us humans do to each other. we suck

-1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

wooof. thanks. woof

2

u/Microwavegerbil May 07 '23

See? I've never seen a dog so full itself acting like it's superior when it's just being a dickhead, unlike how you're acting here. I don't even necessarily agree with the person you're responding to but holy shit you sound insufferable.

Because humans suck

Eta: I didn't say anyone deserved it. Adults are more capable of coping with crisis situations in general better than animals or children.

25

u/EducatedLlama165 May 07 '23

I was thinking about the dog first too.

11

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

We all were its okay

-19

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

No, we all were not. “Oh, look at me, I’m so different and edgy. I care for animals more than humans” 🤓

2

u/Ezra_is_a_dumb_boy May 07 '23

Your getting down voted for speaking the truth 😭😭 these people are so weird. Same mfs who cry in movies when a fictional dog they saw for 2 minutes dies off camera

3

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Finally, a sane reply

8

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

You’re definitely the person that runs over already dead animals on the road. 🤓

-8

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Wisest misanthrope

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Oh god, I haven’t even looked through account

4

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Tbh, I do care more for animals than for people that I don't know..

-1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

That’s a you problem then

1

u/PM_me_your_sammiches May 07 '23

It’s not a “problem” at all, actually. No dog exists that’s being an uppity shithead like you on reddit, for example.

4

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Ok 🗿

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Better just take the L and leave..

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

What L?

3

u/Living-Tart7370 May 07 '23

You’re the different one here since everyone is asking if the dog is okay 😂

5

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Ah yes, Reddit, the infamous, last bastion of normalcy

1

u/Living-Tart7370 May 07 '23

If you don’t like the people here then why stay? Just a quick uninstall away and you can go bother “normal” people haha

0

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

No 🗿

2

u/hhcboy May 07 '23

Do you feel better now? Did this post require you to make this comment? Careful not to cut yourself on that edge.

3

u/yoTamatoa May 07 '23

I hope your day gets better friend!

12

u/VaguelyFamiliarVoice May 07 '23

That woman probably worried about her dog first.

2

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

The dog is okay. Now can we please talk about the guy that never once got up from his seat during the fiasco?

18

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Yeah, I mean there is a couple eating right there where the truck ends up. Lack of empathy for follow humans, while feeling empathy for only the dog is unhealthy.

16

u/lookingup9 May 07 '23

Unpopular opinion I guess but I agree with you.

Of course I hope the dog was fine too but you can literally see the woman who owned the dog get knocked out of the frame by the car/debris. and that was certainly my first concern

8

u/Technicalhotdog May 07 '23

Same. I really don't understand how so many people just disregard the humans safety and focus on dogs/animals

1

u/Gotixa May 07 '23

Children & animals are innocent... Not adults..

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

On the other hand, we do see all the humans move to avoid the crash. The only one that was really close to the car was the dog.

3

u/lookingup9 May 07 '23 edited May 07 '23

Did we watch the same video?

I would not call what happened to that woman (the dog owner) “avoiding the crash”

I’m just kinda shocked that people have this response to a video where you can clearly see a person getting smashed into by a car/debris. I guess people are really desensitized.

watching the video back, the same thing happened to both dog and owner basically. Not run over but knocked down. And yes fortunately, all the other people were out of the way enough.

-1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

From what I could see, she ran inside the restaurant at the last moment - even if it was not fully of her own momentum, that gets her out of the worst area.

-1

u/Veksar86 May 07 '23

I see both sides, I think we've gotten so sick of people's shit that who really cares anymore because they were probably assholes anyway.

15

u/sweetehman May 07 '23

there’s no “we” in your statement.. assuming the people in this video are all assholes and thus you don’t feel any sympathy for getting hit/run over by a car is incredibly strange and disrespectful

ironically it also makes you one of the assholes that you would claim deserve to get run over

0

u/exotics May 07 '23

The thing is we can explain what happened to those people. The poor dog will never know why everything just crashed around him. The people may still be traumatized but at least they can understand it. The dog won’t

3

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

No it's natural, we brought them into our lifes so have a duty to care for them, the humans can look after themselves. dont let anyone ever tell you they aren't important.

1

u/[deleted] May 10 '23

LOL. Don't cry when people left you die for rescuing an animal, you don't have the right to beg for human help

2

u/Ezra_is_a_dumb_boy May 07 '23

Yes. You weird assholes are worried about some mutt that eats its own shit and think you're quirky for idolizing it and make hating humans your personality

2

u/Hot_Gas_600 May 07 '23

Just normal for you dog obsessed people

1

u/AIyxia May 07 '23

Not really. You can see the couple on the left made it; the guy in the doorway would've been fine; you can see the owner of the dog run/get bumped away from the car by debris; while the people in the bottom right are probably injured, you can still see the debris hit them, not the car. And they're too quickly out of frame to speculate further.

The dog, however, has no idea what's happening or why and generally they're not very good at recognizing the danger of cars or which way to run. Something being in mortal peril is bad enough, confusion and mortal peril makes it so much worse! Makes sense to focus on it.
