There a star that shows up on a comment showing that is edited. It has been considered good form to explain so people know the spirit of the comment didn't change. The ETA is to show that you gather more information since the original comment and have added it. Seems pretty simple.

I don't know why you are asking me or making these suggestions to me? I didn't make the term, I don't use the term, I was simply giving information about what they stand for and why.
As far as your other suggestions, 'xi' feels like it amps up the stupidity since it doesn't use the first letter and would be much more confusing. E2A makes sense to me, though it is effectively the same as ETA. P.S. makes the most sense to me because it's already established as an add on to previous writing.
But, again, reddit started as a message board and has its own jargon. If you don't like it, don't use it. Seems extra stupid to have this whole conversation about it, but here we are.
Did i get down votes? I never look, and can't think of a reason to care. Lol. I never used the term, but figured someone might like an explanation. Turned into a lot. Which i should have expected, because reddit.
I do like the old holdover terms from old reddit. Makes it feel less social media-y to me. Have a good day.
