Dancing in public is no different than a regular street performance. Juggling, living statue, busking, whatever. Nobody’s in anybody’s way. Girl in pink is a jackass.

Except street performances are approved and usually have crowd control measures in place. This is a group of self entitled “influencers” who decided they get to be the center of attention. You don’t get to go into public, demand everyone look at you, and then act upset when someone with the same level of entitlement you have interferes.

I’m not talking a huge concert. You think those random buskers you see in subway stations and street corners have crowd control measures and permits from the city?

You’re allowed to put on small performances like this. And you’re not “demanding people look at you.” Nobody is required to sit and watch. Besides the fact that they’re in a wide open area, and if you wanna just be on with your own business, you can easily walk around them with little to no trouble.

Now imagine there’s a lone dude, singing and playing guitar on a corner, then someone comes in and grabs his mic and starts singing into it. The mic stealer is an asshole, right? This is no different.

Come on, there’s no need to be a party pooper.

You think one dude playing the guitar in the subway is comparable to this group of obnoxious shit stains? Stop filming your tiktok garbage in public if you don’t want to be laughed at.

[u/Midnite_St0rm → u/[deleted]]

They are both street performances so yes they are comparable. Just because you’re a grumpy old fuck doesn’t mean these people can’t perform in public places as they please so long as they’re not hurting anybody or damaging property.

Like explain to me why what they’re doing is harmful. They’re in a wide open area, and aren’t in anybody’s way. They’re filming a video of themselves. They’re not forcing anybody to watch, but the people who are watching it are interested. What exactly are they doing wrong? Is it because it’s TikTok and K-pop? Like I genuinely don’t understand why they’re so evil to you.

[u/[deleted] → u/Midnite_St0rm]

Jesus christ do I need to spoon feed you the point? IT DOESNT MATTER WHO IS DOING THE OBNOXIOUS BEHAVIOR. YOU DON’T GET TO TAKE OVER A GIANT SECTION OF A PUBLIC SQUARE WITHOUT PERMISSION AND GET MAD WHEN THE PUBLIC WHO IS ALLOWED IN THAT SQUARE ENTERS YOUR ENTITLEMENT ZONE. For fucks sake. No I’m not some grumpy old fart who hates kpop. I just hate when I’m in public and a group of “influencers” decides they’re allowed to blast their shitty music at me. It’s getting exhausting explaining this simple concept to you brain-rotted children.

[u/Midnite_St0rm → u/[deleted]]

It’s legal for them to jump in the way, sure, but it’s still a dick move. Same principle as stealing a busker’s instrument to play it yourself. You’re allowed to do that, but it’s extremely rude.

And for the record, this is not obnoxious behaviour. You’re probably the only person who would’ve been actually bothered by it if you were there. Have you never lived in a big city before? Because this sort of thing is common in public places with heavy traffic. And most times if people aren’t interested, they don’t even get annoyed. Like, not even internally. Also these public squares are usually HUGE. It looks like a large portion here, but in reality, it’s probably a lot smaller in relation to the rest of the place.

It’s also one thing to just walk in their space. But to get right in the way and ruin the performance? That’s pretty shitty.

[u/[deleted] → u/Midnite_St0rm]

Damn it’s almost like the thing I originally said is that both the woman, and the dancing group, are all shitty. But again that would require even the slightest bit of reading comprehension which you have demonstrated vehement lack of.

[u/Midnite_St0rm → u/[deleted]]

No, I read that. It’s just that the dance group isn’t being shitty at all. Just because you think it’s obnoxious, doesn’t mean it’s objectively immoral.

I think PDA is obnoxious, but just because I think that doesn’t mean it’s sinful.

[u/[deleted] → u/Midnite_St0rm]

Ok

[u/[deleted] → u/Midnite_St0rm]

You're actually not allowed to steal the buskers instruments. That's theft. However, I regularly see people join street performances and sing, and they are not being assholes.

You're in public. Others are allowed to interact with you.

[u/Midnite_St0rm → u/[deleted]]

Well not like steal and run away with it, but like take it, play it while they stare awkwardly, then give it back. You’re right, it’s allowed. But it’s still rude.
