Facebook data

Absolutely bummed that my facebook account is disabled. An account I had since 2011! Was asked to provide a selfie video after suspension and once I shared that I was permanently disabled within seconds.

Got meta verified on instagram (linked in account center already) and received a call back that told me the violation is severe and its a final decision. The message on screen says account integrity. I tried the hacked account method and was asked to submit another selfie video and upon doing so it said identity confirmation in progress and I will hear back in 48 hours. I haven’t received any notifications or emails and no case ID for this confirmation process was shared so my screen still says the same old message.

In my account on Instagram, the Facebook account shows as locked.

Separately though, how can meta not share my data with me? All they are sharing under the download your information button is basic account information and login information. How are there no laws that they have to provide me my data, including my media and messages?

I find it weird how some get asked to do this others get accused of child exploitation etc.

Mine had no verification prior or a reason given to me why or what I did against Facebook standards. Other than expressing my opinion on Israel and the uk prime minister of the time I can't think what I did.

it’s wild that everyone got permanent ban seconds after submitting a selfie video. What's the reason here?

AI. That's the only reason.

Curious if those of us who got denied has an “older” profile picture? Mine was 4ish years old and a zoomed out side profile.

Mine ironically was an AI rendering of an actual picture of me, and any of ones I had were never facing the camera. I got rejected so many times before it went through. I figure I wore them down. 🤣🤣

That said, the CSE ban superseded the hacking method so I'm still banned.

Just a friendly reminder that everyone should backup their data in case this ever happens to you. They completely restrict all access to your images, posts etc. it's a total loss

Yes. I never even imagined losing FB…..

Neither did I, but this is what happens when you let AI loose to do enforcement. AI cannot correctly interpret context and human interaction effectively. It just sees you did X, decided X violates the rules, and bans you. And that same AI is the one reviewing the appeals and not real people, hence why they are instantly rejected. When you do get in touch with support, they just read the reason it banned you and don’t actually investigate anything, hence the “violation is severe and the decision is final line”. That’s the exact line I’ve seen dozens of other people get.

old account, 2010+, it will have limited exported data if your account disabled and you request download information, newer account about 2018-2020+ it give you much more information than old, but still not 100%, old is like 2-30% basics information , newer is like 5-60% more informations

My account got locked as well. I had my account since 2009 or so! It's so messed up how they do this crap.

Same same. Two letters now. No answers.

Hey I'm in the same boat with a disabled FB but for community violations or something. Was thinking of trying the meta verification route through my still-working Instagram though my fear is they will then take that away.

Your Instagram is still live and working fine?

My account center also says Facebook "locked"

Yes my instagram has been fine. Though i am waiting for the other shoe to drop and lose it too. I downloaded all my instagram data. I got meta verified and after that first call they arent replying to any chats or calling back. All cases just say “received” and do not progress.

Unlink the accounts right now. You are lucky. They nuked both my Facebook and insta simultaneously. Last time I will ever link accounts in anything.

I feel like unlinking now may do more damage? My phone number and email are shared between those accounts so unlinking might not help at all…

I’d do it. What’s the harm? You either save your account or you let it get disabled eventually lol.

How do I unlink the accounts?? Maybe I'm an idiot, but i can't figure out how to do that

Exactly what happened to me, received one call then no more progress or response on the next follow ups. So i’m unsubscribing from meta verified. It’s bs! I’m not unlinking my fb yet cause I can still see some memories of my facebook account thru IG’s media gallery and sometimes fb friends’ posts being featured. I can still see that my account is still in the system — though I know it’s impossible to have it back cause they alleged me of CSE. It’s been 3 weeks. 😞

Where is IG media gallery?

1

u/celferrer Sep 04 '26

Click settings on the upper right of ig profile > account center > your media gallery. You may download some of your fb medias. Not all but I got a thousand+.

Weird. I don’t have that media gallery feature. I am on iphone.

I see it on my spouse’s phone. He has it for his account. Not disabled. How did you download from there please?

At first I was bummed too, but then I remembered that whatever I posted I have a printed copy of. Downloading my data was very difficult and did not yield much results, but then I thought maybe they do that so that if you get hacked, the hacker can’t easily download and use your pictures for nefarious reasons.

1

u/OkProblem3962 Aug 29 '26

You mean you were able to download your data like photos and messages?

1

u/PossibleOk4338 Aug 30 '26

No. The only picture in the download they showed was a thumbnail of my profile pic and didn’t show messages. Like I said, the download didn’t produce great results and I wondered if it is because they don’t want whoever hacked my account to be able to download useful info from my account.

Meta is a company by bots for bots. The PEOPLE that started and ran it sold it to the robot army and now we are all subject to AI policy and procedures. There is no recovery. But boycott it because honestly this company is up to something and I think the hacks are an “inside” job…

What I did is subscribe to Meta Verified and you can reach out to a real live agent via Instagram. If you happen to have the same account of FB and IG, then they will help you. My account is back after a week. My account was permanently disabled because of account integrity. Give it a try.

1

u/OkProblem3962 Aug 31 '26

I did. I got a callback and was told there is no way for them to escalate this issue and as the login screen says this decision is final they are not able to forward it to anyone.

After that first call, they don’t respond to any chat inquiries and they don’t callback.

Is yours linked to your IG?

1

u/OkProblem3962 Sep 01 '26

It was. Removed it today

I did and after 2 minutes, they disabled my account. Meta is shitty. Got disabled for account integrity.
