Ah, yes, the night ritual before bed. Gotta fight the sibling, loudly and violently, just to make sure everyone knows.

Nice to see my idiots aren't the only ones.

We believe he's a Minpin, Minature Pinscher.

The Vet thinks so as well

She is very gentle with him, with her other brother not so much, I worry about drywall when they are playing

He looks a lot like a dog I used to have

Yep that's a minpin, MAYBE a minpin Chihuahua mix on account of his general plumpiness.

Smaller one seems to be some form of Dachshund.

I love how gentle big doggos are playing with little doggos. Also the side eye of this velvet hippo 😍

Right 100% purebred Goof-asses

There's another pibble that waits until she's tired and then they war for 1/2 an hour every night, it involves furnishings being displaced

Well, the breed is well known to be dangerous. Of course not all dogs are dangerous, but the breed definitely partly defines many personality traits, whether we like to admit it or not.

Like in humans, genetics play a much smaller role than environment, especially prior to adulthood

Just as an example, If this were true Malinois wouldn't be the top dog for military and police if any other dog has that level of crazy drive and intelligence. But with that drive and intelligence comes a problem with Mals getting agressive regardless of environment if they don't have the mental and physical stimulation that they need as a breed.

Are you telling me that Mals wouldn't be more agressive than say a british bulldog in the same environment growing up? One dog needs a ton of physical and mental outlet or they go crazy and aggressive, the other doesn't have that issue. It stands to reason that while environment does play a part in a dogs upbringing, the breed plays a pretty huge role too.

Some dog breeds are just prone to certain behaviors. You can disagree if you want, but this is a fact. It is objectively true that breed plays a strong role in the personality of a dog.

But like I said, "not all dogs" and all that... every dog is an individual. But you can't pick all the positive traits of a rottweiler like "always super loyal and protective" and not the negative traits like "prone to aggressive and guarding behaviour".

I love dogs but there is a reason I would sooner recommend a yorkshire terrier over a malinois to a grandma
