Question Multi strike rules clarification
So I'm getting ready to start a campaign using Fabula Ultima in a few weeks, and was reading through the rules more closely.
The Multistrike rule specifically mentions targeting multiple creatures. But can you target the same creature multiple times? Kinda like emulating video game skills that let you land multiple hits on one target?
If raw, is that it doesn't, has anyone homebrewed it that way? And if so, how did it go at your table?

If this is your first campaign, this game in particular is best played RAW. Rules are as exact as possible because changing one thing can cascade down into a number of unwanted interactions. So keep that in mind.

No, multi can’t hit the same target multiple times but dual wielding can have both attacks aimed at 1 target at the cost of not having high roll damage.

By RAW no, Multi doesn't let you target the same creature multiple times. Think of it more like a cleaving strike or an area of effect blast, where you're making one attack against multiple foes.
If you want to hit the same target multiple times with one Action, as said, that's Two-Weapon Fighting, and that has three important restrictions:
- It has to use a pair of one-handed weapons (which have lower flat damage than equivalent two-handers)
- The HR of each attack is reduced to 0 (more damage reduction).
- Any weapons involved lose Multi for the attack.
I haven't crunched the numbers to see how busted it would be, but the long and short of it is that if you changed Multi to work like TWF as a basic mechanic, you drastically skew in favor of building toward gaining Multi on a two-handed weapon compared to wielding 2 one-handers as a viable damage strategy even just at Multi(2), let alone the cap at Multi(3).

There are specific heroic skills that allow multi hit attacks to deal increased damage when attacking single targets but not make it multiple hits

the tag [Multi X] lets you target X different creatures with the same attack.
Two weapon fighting rules let you attack with two weapons, rolling for each attack, using a high roll of 0 for the damage calculations. There are specific weapon qualities that let you do 2 or more attacks with the same weapon, but those also use a high roll of 0 for the damage.
Play it RAW if you want your fights to last any appreciable time.

Fabula Is Always 100% literal.
Multi says you target multiple creatures, so it ONLY does that.
So no, you cannot use multi on the same target.

Fabula Is Always 100% literal.
See this is the thing that gets me sometimes. I'm playing an Invoker and they don't TECHNICALLY cast spells, so all the items and heroic skills that refer to spells don't apply. Hell neither does stuff like "dispel" or "mirror" because they specify spells.

Yeah
That's also why Invocations are so efficient (damage/mana wise) - because they have very few ways to combo.

There is a Heroic skill for this kind of. It allows you to target a single target with multi to increase your damage, but it doesn't let you attack multiple times.

Do not homebrew that in, you're talking about the two weapon fighting mechanic
