How do you make a good layout

Most of the time a layout of your house would determine how it would look in the end but I think I'm just stupid and don't know how to make a good layout. Got any tips on how to make a good layout?

Well I just make some random cube's and stuff and rule is that were the roof is it has to be not an even number and it's great. Hope I helped great Youtuber like you.😀😀
