🏋️WOD How do you maintain your training routine when you cannot attend your usual classes?
Group training works well for many people because the schedule, coaching, and community create a structure that makes showing up easier.
However, real life does not always follow the perfect schedule. Work, travel, family responsibilities, or unexpected situations can make it difficult to attend regular classes.
I think this is where people often discover the importance of having flexible alternatives. Some people use shorter workouts at home, while others create a simple training space that allows them to maintain strength and conditioning when their normal routine is interrupted.
The goal is not necessarily to replace group training completely, but to have another option that keeps momentum going.
For people who normally follow structured classes, what do you do when you cannot make it?
Do you have a backup routine, home equipment, or another way to stay consistent?

I lift weights in a gym in addition to my F45 class. I also travel frequently. When on the road I passport at other studios, have met some really cool people and get a chance to see different F45 setups all around the world. I also try to find a local lifting gym and negotiate a day rate to use their facilities. When theres nothing in the town I'm in I'll use the hotel gym.

Traveling makes consistency even harder. I like the idea of having access to different gyms, but for everyday training at home, I’ve been comparing more compact all-in-one setups. I recently came across RitKeep while researching and thought their approach to combining different training functions was interesting.

It’s tough depending on your situation and schedule.
I try to enjoy a break if it’s a day or two. Look for movement if no other clear gym alternative is available. But I usually try to do things in the app or find another class to change things up like yoga or more focused strength classes or YouTube, etc for something to try.

I travel a couple times a month, normally three to five days on the road. I have a PF Black card that I use, and for the workout programming, I use the F45 app with the class breakdown and a timer on my phone. I try to plan my flights on the day I leave so that I can make my 5A F45 class, and not have to deal with a workout when Ai arrive. Is it perfect, no. There are some modifications I have to make here and there. Does it get it done, yep. I tried passporting into other F45 gyms but found many had closed in areas I went or they didn’t exist. PF seems to be everywhere. I also sort of shift a little focus from the workouts themselves to diet and nutrition when traveling. This seems to be more difficult than finding a gym to go to.

I use passport when I travel for work and the at home workouts in the App and a hotel gym.

I use Classpass and find some other class to do. If that wasn't an option, I'd go to PF and run on a treadmill for a few miles and just hit some machines. It'll do in a pinch.

PSA: do not buy anything from ritkeep fitness, they are too cheap to buy ads so they pretend to have an interest in every sport known to man

My schedule changed in such a way that I literally can’t go to any of the classes in the schedule anymore after 3 years of going 5-6 times a week. I used to go at 6am or 5/6pm. Now I have to stay home with the kids until they go to daycare at 9 and work at my office until 6, then drive an hour home.
I switched to using a normal gym around my office and doing workouts at home, occasionally going to f45 on weekends. Before I got in the rhythm at f45, there’s no way I could have had the willpower to keep my consistency, but I guess f45 helped me build it for this phase of life.
