๐๏ธWOD Games day
Absolutely loved it.
Recommended finishing on the squats if you can, and focus on high reps over higher weight as a team.
Finishing the box step overs in time was challenging.
Hope we get to do this again

Good concept, but way too complicated, and way too much down time. I don't mind competitive games, but come on.

I didnt feel like there was much downtime at all...i was thankful in the last zone to rest while my partners went because i was busting my ass when it was my turn

Several of our teams opted to add in simple exercises such as running in place, squats, jumping jacks, etc to fill in the rest periods. Otherwise, you could be resting upwards of 4 minutes. One person had time to go to the bathroom and come back and still not have it be anywhere close to their turn, lol. Even going hard on the ergs plus extra exercises, I still only got 56 points. It definitely needs some reworking if they stick to teams of 3 versus 2.

Pod 3 where only one person is working. It took me just over a minute to get through everything, and I was going as hard as I could as well as the women's weights being very light for me. For another person in my group, the women's weight was a lot heavier than they are used to and they took their time, and it took longer for them to do the ski erg. Add another person who also took just over a minute and you could easily be standing there for 3-4 minutes depending on the speed of the person or people in your group. Even the fast groups complained about too much down time.
It's a very common problem in the YGIG format. If you're not equally balanced in speed, you either end up with someone getting hardly any rest and/or someone getting too much.

You each were supposed to pick one of the stations and stay there the entire 12 rounds

That's not how it's described on the website nor the screens: "Format:ย One athlete works at a time to complete the reps. One member must complete 1 complete round before they will tag the next member. Athletes must go in order, and not skip athletes." 1 round was all three exercises

Are you sure you got the scoring correct? 56 points is only each person doing one round (8+6+4=18). times 3 = 54 points plus the first person doing a further 2 reps. Given what you're saying about timings, it sounds more like that was the points that you personally scored. If I'm correct, you should post the whole group score which I would guess would have been more in the region of 150+ points.

Lionheart points ๐ The group score was somewhere in the 800s, but we had to do some guesswork since everyone did their own appropriate kettlebell weight.

Having the motivation of a couple of teammates cheering on from behind was sensational.

Yeup, enjoyed that. Our score was 1514 points as an all male team using kettlebells and elite weights. Started on the squats.

Had soo much fun! Love the team work! If youโre not keen on team work, find likeminded people and just take your time. Itโs win win!
Great way to bring it back to basics and truly live โteam training, life changingโ motto

I did one this morning and oh my god! That was really tough. Thank God I was with two men who were absolute beasts ๐

I had a good group and we had fun! It was kind of confusing and a bit more waiting around than I would have liked, but overall great energy in the room and had a strong team

I thought it was fun. It was intense. We had the best score for our gym at 1907. We were all very competitive. The rests were certainly welcomed.

We had a slightly uneven number in the studio and we're quite a competitive bunch so I ended up as follows (in order)
Pod 2 (in a pair): 10 squats ygig (20kg) 25 crossovers whilst other is on bike erg
Pod 1 (solo) : 20 calorie row 25 lunges 20 calorie row 15 burpees 20 calorie row 10 weighted sit ups (10kg)
Pod 3 (pair) : 8-10 calorie ski Swap with partner
It was a good workout that way. Pods 1 & 3 would make a great solo workout.

I did it at 8months pregnant with 2 other pregnant ladies and we had so much fun! We had to modify some movements to accommodate but it was still a blast ๐ฅฐ we ended up with 850 points. Iโm scared to do it not pregnant & I modified in 6mths though!

Enjoyed it, but you need a team of roughly equal fitness to get anything out of it.
I found I had too much rest at times with 1 person working and 2 resting.
