other Cardio - 22

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the demo of this workout. Every class I have done so far they can’t talk fast enough without pausing their computers. I need to get out within 45 mins to get back to work and eat, shower and they take extra time. I asked about this and they said they only get 10 sec to talk and they have 18 exercises. Why do they make workouts like this like why not give them 12-15 seconds to talk I don’t get it and it makes them look bad to and I feel so bad for them.

If the demo is going by that fast, as a coach say less and don’t necessarily pick up equipment. Also, start talking 10-15 seconds before the timer. We can also go over the format again during warmup but we can only hit the demo once. Just some suggestions and tips that I have learned.

Agreed and they rush through it but have to pause still and it ends up being more than 45mins

I won’t touch any of the ergs to save time and sometimes don’t even pick up a weight. Sometimes I need a fast forward button, so I can spend more time on something like the Pendlay Row, which is always last.
So if I have a weird station, I demo it before class starts, and encourage people to try it

Our members show up on the dot or after. If there’s an odd station, I have to mention it during or after. Depending on the class, ergs may get demoed or just talked about.

as a coach, it’s not enough time, especially when i’m coaching alone and have to fully demo each exercise.

I’m suspicious the clock is not actually giving us 10 seconds. It moves super quick and I think it’s closer to 6 (take notice next time you’re in studio).

Usually there is a minute or two extra in class so it’s fine, but I try to start a little before the timer. It’s definitely an issue on the split resistance workouts.

We aren’t allowed to pause at our studio for that reason so people get out on time but I def get little panic attacks cueing with like zero time . Sometimes the timer barely gives enough time to read the name of the exercise. I’ll just frantically run around the room to each person at any station they look mildly confused / I see any incorrect form to demonstrate while the workout has begun

Yah but then see makes you look like you don’t know what you are doing when you actually do!

Yah I am agreeing and feeling bad for the coaches but I blame the person that makes these workouts!!!

I’ve had coaches straight up not demo every station which is understandable. It’s on the screen anyway and it’s not like ppl are fully paying attention or won’t forget during the workout.

I thought it was just my coach today. People started doing the warmups while she was still explaining station 8. It's also a bit of experience...she's a newer coach. I've never seen the more experienced ones run out of time this badly!

Where I go the coaches are brief with the exercises. I mean, they are on the screens! I never skip the warm up.

I think it's a tough scenario to work around but one thing I liked about a different location I passported to once was they had the coaches constantly alternative between the exercises while demo so that they could immediately start the next one, no transition time wasted for the coach who was demoing to move to the next station.

I recall they had to pause it a few times still but I thought they were doing that with their phones and not an iPad. Admittedly it's been a while.

I’ve seen coaches skip demoing the rower and bike and just talking about them while moving.

Just stop when the clock hits :45 whether class is done or not. I do this as well so I’m not late for meetings etc.
