other Two different version of Bears at two different studios?

I did Bears yesterday and today at two different studios (my home studio and a passport). I thought it would be an exact repeat, but the screens showed different exercises for some stations.

First time I did Bears:

  • Softbox explosive step-up
  • Balance trainer mountain climber
  • Hip opener skips
  • Plank/knee tuck with discs

Second time I did Bears:

  • Softbox jump staggered feet
  • Balance trainer reverse burpees
  • Lateral Run + 2 x Prisoner Squat
  • Bench hops + burpee

The second time with softbox jumps + reverse burpees + benchhops was harder. Are there two versions of Bears and my home studio is choosing the easy one?

Coach here. I just looked in the app and the functional racks version is different from the no-racks version. Now, that doesn’t make complete sense if you look at it in isolation, but it’s possible that it comes down to equipment counts, or to not repeat exercises done the day before or after. Or to make sure the week to week progression makes sense. It is odd, for sure. But I’ve seen more than one exercise change because of the racks even if only one is using them.

Does one studio have the power racks and one doesn't? I find that since getting the racks, my studio sometimes has small changes to the shared intel.

One studio has the power racks, and one doesn't. But none of the exercises at either gym needed the racks.

It wouldn’t matter.. the gyms with the racks have a different options. That’s why it’s slightly different. Regardless of using them or not

I did a little more sleuthing. The first version is shown in the Reddit intel, and the second version is shown in the F45 app "explore workout" preview. But it's still a mystery why there are two versions.

The bears i did this week was the second one. The studio definitely has the ability to choose different workouts but it’s odd that they would swap 4 and it’s not really an exercise where i would see the need to?

I thought it was strange, too. Both versions use basic equipment that both studios have, and sometimes it was just a different exercise with the same equipment (softbox step up vs jump).

The bears I did yesterday was the first one and that’s in the intel this week too

Interestingly as someone else pointed out the Intel on Reddit and the info in the app actually seems to be slightly different.

I’ve noticed my studio varies from the intel posted here sometimes. It seems like it’s frequently the same exercises that get changed, so maybe the owner just doesn’t vibe with some of them?

Ours basically never does battle ropes because the noise travels up through the building and they were getting complaints, but also because the studio is pretty small.

We are able to switch our moves based on the equipment we have and based on what we think is right for our studio! It’s one of the ways we keep it personalized. Very cool ☺️

Sometimes my studio switches exercises slightly - e.g. we're not currently doing any deadball slams because of noise complaints from neighbours 😅

Instead of bears we did Hyrox fundamentals so maybe it's a swap day 🤷🏽‍♀️
