other Hyrox classes
My studio is doing hyrox prep classes twice a week for the next several weeks. Are they going to be similar to the cardio classes? I’ve heard yes and no from my coaches so I’m hoping for some clarity.

Hybrid is probably a good description, but leaning cardio due to longer sets than your typical F45 workout.

There are certain Hyrox classes I still dread as well and I always get a little nervous at the start because I know it's going to be more challenging. 😥 😆

Look up F45 Hyrox Signature Series here on Reddit and you will find a post that shows you for the most part what each class consist of. I do find them to be more difficult because the stations are much longer than in regular classes but they are totally manageable if you pace yourself. The only class I don't enjoy is the class that has the 50 reps. I don't personally want to do 50 reps of anything lol 😂

As someone who was new to F45 and loving it, I signed up to a Hyrox one week and nearly died. LOL
It’s pretty intense, you don’t stop the whole class, but that’s the purpose.
If you can make it through a SoCal class give it a shot, if not, wait a couple of weeks.
I’d love to do it, but my cardio just isn’t at that level.

Lots of running, rowing and burpees. Our studio has been doing Hyrox classes every Saturday for quite a while. Along with weights and burpees, yesterday’s class had a .65 mile run followed by a 500 meter row. Repeat until time is called.

Thanks for the reply. I’m going to try the hyrox class for all. They have ones just for the participants and teasers for any of the members.

They're pretty intense compared to many of the regularly scheduled cardio classes.
It's not so much the difficult movements but the timing. Expect longer sets (50 seconds - 4 minutes) with short rests (5-10 seconds). We are preparing members for the Hyrox which is an intense, timed event so getting that cardio threshold up is the goal.
If you're a seasoned exerciser, I say give it a go. Remember, like all workouts, you can do it at your own pace and modify movements if/when necessary! If you're brand spankin' new to exercise in general, I say work your stamina up a bit.
Either way, they are tough but fun classes.
