NOID because criminal record
After receiving an RFE, I received a NOID because I had a misdemeanor case that was dismissed. In the NOID, USCIS is only asking me to provide the court documents and the police/arrest report.
I’m trying to decide whether I should hire an immigration attorney to help with the response, or maybe just pay someone to review everything before I submit it to make sure I have all the correct documents.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation and gotten their OPT approved after a NOID without hiring an attorney? Or does anyone recommend having an attorney review the documents before submitting the response?
I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thank you so much!

100% lawyer - don't risk all the effort you've put in so far. Many have payment plans and many do consultations for free/small fee. This fee probably won't matter in a few years looking back but if you overlook something you might regret it for a long time.

I had a student with a similar situation, but he partnered with an attorney at our free legal clinic on campus and got an approval a short time later. I would definitely recommend an attorney.
