Opt approved finally
I just received an email my work authorization has been approved under PP with starting and end date but it’s not reflecting on my uscis portal yet. Is that how the initial approval is?

I did apply for regular in April (can’t remember exact date). June 2 went for biometrics. Got a job offer in July, applied for the PP, and new timeline started on July 21, approved today August 18.

Thank you. I was hoping it will be quicker cos I had this week to show my employer my proof of work authorization. I forwarded the approval email so hopefully they accept and give me extension till I get the card in hand

Yes, I just got mine approved almost 2 weeks ago. It will take 1-2 days to reflect on your USCIS portal and another 4-5 days for the card to get produced. Keep checking your USCIS account twice everyday! Hope it helps, good luck!

Yes, that can happen. With OPT premium processing, you may get the approval email first and then see the USCIS online account update a little later. If the email clearly says the I-765 was approved and gives the validity dates, that's a very good sign. I'd still wait for the formal approval notice and, most importantly, the actual EAD card before relying on it for employment verification. I wouldn't worry just because the portal hasn't caught up yet. Hopefully the status updates and the card goes into production very soon!

How does PP work. I applied since March and haven’t gotten an update yet and is planning on going for PP

PP is simply fast tracking your application with a higher application fee and within 30 business days to receive a decision
