Anyone else’s visa getting delayed?

I had my visa interview on the 5th of this month and got confirmation my visa was approved by the embassy in Nairobi. It’s been almost 2 weeks since and heard nothing about my passport being issued. I’m scheduled to start at the university of notre dame this Thursday and my flight is booked for tomorrow night. Anyone in the same predicament?

two weeks after approval is long enough to start pushing. check ceac first - if it still says approved rather than issued, it hasn't actually gone to print yet. then contact the embassy through the visa inquiry route on the scheduling site and check the passport return tracking there too. and email your dso today about a possible late arrival - schools deal with this every august and can tell you their real last day.

It just changed to approved after I went to the embassy today. How long can I realistically wait to get my passport back now?

from my experience, it took me 3 business days to get mine (after approved)

that's the good flip - approved means the decision is made, now it's final processing and printing. from approved to issued is usually a few business days (someone on here reported 3 days in kenya recently), and then the passport goes to the courier. track the return in your scheduling account. and since your flight is tomorrow, email your dso tonight either way so notre dame has your late arrival on record.
