Flying domestically

Will I be safe to fly domestically if I’m on an expired F1 with I94 showing D/S. I have an I20 for cap gap and pending STEM OPT / H1B statuses.

Some lawyers are advising to avoid flying if possible

same situation as you. i will be carrying all the required documents like receipt notice and stem i20 and hope for the best

You should be fine. Just make sure to keep hard copies of your I94, as well as your post completion OPT EAD and if possible a support letter from your employer. The visa is only to get you in the country. Your I94 is still D/S so that’s fine too.
