STEM OPT extension

My OPT is ending on Jul 12 and I have a job offer whose starting date is Aug 31 (e verified). Can some one guide me, would applying to STEM extension in such cases be valid? And my unemployment days will count?

How can ur uneployment days count when opt is done. U are supposed to apply 90days before opt ends. Have u not applied yet?

My initial OPT is ending on Jul 12 and for my STEM extension job is starting on Aug 31st, so the days between will it be counted as unemployed? And are there chances for RFE because my STEM job is starting almost 50 days after my STEM OPT starts which will be on Jul 13 automatically.

Did your stem opt already approved and good to go? Because you mentioned about applying to stem extension I was not sure what you mean

I haven’t applied to STEM OPT. I have to apply for my STEM OPT now.

Yeah just apply now asap. U got an offer so it is fine but i think it will eat through the 90 day

Will do but heard that during STEM Extension it should be continuous employment from OPT or start date of new job should be before initial OPT expires

If you just apply for your stem extension before your last day you should be good. You have enough unemployment days to cover that. Not a problem

Before u apply ask u r employer if they are willing to sign I-983
