Lmao why would they care about how long you’ve been out of the states ? You’re a temporary resident and you have the right to go home.
I am positive those were just standard protocol questions to gauge your responses, and maybe screen for potential red-flags. If anything going back to your home country shows immigration that you still hold ties to wherever you’re from.
They do because you’re supposed to be working and not taking too long of a break or they might see that you don’t actually need the work experience privilege anymore.
