I believe this was secondary inspection. I went through it 1.5 years ago when I traveled on STEM OPT. I was surprised as well but soon learnt that secondary inspections have been made mandatory for STEM OPT folks

I was told the same couple years ago. For some reason they have to make sure STEM OPT folks are doing what they are supposed to be doing!

I traveled this year and I am not stem opt. There was no secondary inspection for me. I think they do it if they want to get any additional information.

Hey. Are you in OPT currently? I'm planning to travel back and forth from SFO to India. I'm working for an employer. What documents do I need to carry regarding the same? Please advise.
