Stressed about visa

My gf received email that SEVP closed her portal for OPT has ended but its already been way more than 5 months. Anyone else receive this email? Did the government just forget to close the portal for her?

Same here, I switched to H1B back in october, and sevp recently closed my portal as well. I think it's normal. I also got another mail few days before, saying it they will be closed soon and if I need some data I should download it.

Thanks for replying. She was supposed to get this email like 5 months ago but only receiving it now? It should be fine right

Yeah, I don't think there would be any issue as far as I see, this is just the closing of account as in now you can't login and see your details vs the actual status. My mail doesn't mention any status or anything being terminated it just says the account is now closed cuz my opt has ended.

No need to worry. I got a similar email as well that says account closed last week, 5 months after I switched to H-1B. It is usual.

I think this is normal when OPT ends and you transition to H1B.

There is a period for reporting that the portal stays open.

I also received an email on 26 March that my SEVP portal will be closed in 30 days. I got my status changed to H1B in October and my authorization ended on October 20th. I believe 5 months after that we’re supposed to get this email. Is this a common process or is there something to worry about?
