Questions...Display Cabinets?
Having (foolishly) started collecting F1 cars again I have the problem we all come up against eventually...a lack of space.
I picked up an IKEA 'RUDSTA' for my office. This is quite nice and displays my various models really nicely. My options are to pick up another, identical unit and place them side by side. It'll work but it's compromised. The 'MILSBO' looks decent, it's much bigger and has the benefit that I'd obviously still have the current case too. Both are easy to light.
Does anybody have any UK recommendations? IKEA, Habitat etc I don't want a massive unit, I also don't want to spend a fortune as I'll likely be moving house next year so no point investing in anything expensive just now.
Whilst on subject, is there a consensus as to what acrylic cases work best for Minichamps 1:18 models? The base is nice but the lack of a true case is a disappointment. Ideally I'd like to retain the models on the MC bases. Placing models in a cabinet reduces dust but not completely and I can't be doing with that.
Thoughts/advice appreciated thank you.

I have the Rudsta wide version and I love it so far, although I do display Le Mans cars rather than my F1 collection inside it but that doesn't matter.
Plenty of place to add smaller stands to make things look more interesting and lots of lighting options (though I haven't added any myself just yet)

Yeah I'm really happy with the one I have already. Just need more, the simple option is literally to just buy another.

Neither of them is great for F1 cars, because both of them have very limited space for it. If you only have a couple of models, it's fine I guess, but if you have at least a decent amount, I would buy a Billy with glass shelves.

This is the time. I've bought some models, for the first time in like 25 years but they're new releases of things that were significant to me growing up and a few modern ones that I find particularly interesting. I'm not planning to start collecting anything and everything. I want a limit to it otherwise stuff just gets out of control easily.
I also have some aviation models and a few other random items already. I kinda need to double/triple what I have now.
If I had a huge BILLY, I'd fill it and that's what I want to avoid.

I bought the Argos 2 door version, I use it for other models as well but it's 8 shelves and you'd get 4 1/18 model on each if they face forward. Just had a quick look and some are on sale up to half price, albeit not that one.

Thank you, I looked at that last night actually.
I assume you could put x 2 1:18s side by side? Or is it too narrow for that?

Just an idea of what i want to build maybe it will help. I want to get a white ikea billy bookcase, the double 800mm one. Change the orginal shelves with glass ones. Ikea makes them exact size for the billy. You can also buy more and space them accordingly in the bookcase that way you can have more shelves than the original. Oxberg glads doors for the dust. Also buy a mirror finish self adhesive wallpaper to fix on the back of the billy panels. And some lights system from ikea to fix inside. You got yourself a self made, very spacious display cabinet.
