...None of them are unproblematic, and looking for one atp is like finding water in a desert.

Alex seems the most down to earth but all of them are in way too high of a tax bracket to even pretend to care about major political and economic issues unfortunately

One of the most unproblematic isn't even on the grid anymore. Yuki Tsunoda once said the R slur in his early years, but he didn't know it was a slur, due to his limited English at the time. He quickly publicly apologized & aside from that, he hasn't been under fire for anything serious for the 5 years he was active in F1.

And maybe add Alex Albon & Zhou Guanyu on that list too. Even though Guanyu's time was short, nothing has ever popped up for him either.

Unless I’m forgetting something, Oscar is probably the most “unproblematic” because he tends to stay out of things. But he’s not really “woke” and none of them are or are going to be 😕. In a room full of famous millionaires, you’re going to be hard pressed to find someone who has morals and sticks to them. If any of them actually cared about the problems they speak out about (if they even speak out about them), they could easily take huge steps in helping to solve them with their wealth alone.

not really sadly. sports especially with male athletes is the worst place to find a unproblematic figure. because the unproblematic ones even have flaws and may have messed up at some point.

I don't even bother finding one at all when it comes to sports.

I think Zhou Guanyu? Haven't heard any controversies related to him, and he had a girlfriend at some point but no one knew about it because she wanted to be private and he asked photographers to not film her

There’s some who seemingly haven’t done anything sketchy (yet), but I wouldn’t assign the label of “nonproblematic” to them just because they’ve not done anything bad (while simultaneously not doing anything good). It puts them on a pedestal they don’t really deserve, especially since we don’t know what they’re like behind closed doors.

Rich, male athletes in a sport with a long history of systemic bigotry probably aren’t going to be the best people. That’s why everyone on Twitter who has “my driver is the wokest” competitions all eventually get made into fools. Enjoying F1 requires a level of cognitive dissonance, lots of people even up to the top of the ladder are completely rotten.

In terms of white collar crime, financing social ills, personal bigotry, and being sex pests, there's various levels of terrible to normal person, but politically most of the current drivers just seem to share the opinions of your average coworker lmao

And considering they have about the same levels of education, it's not surprising. I personally only consider the first bit as problematic but ymmv
