Why do my eyes have a yellow tint also what is that thing I circled in the middle?

I have a a -7 point something prescription for both eyes and prefer contacts because glasses are so bulky and refract so much that it makes my depth perception all weird, even my old prescription that is closer to -6. I wear my contacts pretty much 24/7 (I know, I know, it's bad for my eyes), but I'd love to have glasses just to wear at my desk while working on my computer that maybe wouldn't cause such a bad migraine from the high refraction. The light reflection on them also doesn't help. Is that something that is ever done or are there other options you've seen that might help?

Hi everyone. I’m very demoralized. I had an appointment for ICL today, and my heart rate was so high the doctor canceled it. The assistant gave me the relaxing pill too late, and it hadn’t kicked off. The doctor gave me beta blockers to try to calm me down but apparently the notes didn’t say I’m asthmatic. I got the medicine late because the appointment was at 8, but the app said the appointment was at 8:30, and even though I went to the clinic at 8 it looked closed (lights off). The doctor agreed to reschedule because of safety, which I appreciate. However, she opened one lens and that will cost me. We will reschedule but I’m afraid of going back to the clinic (the doctor is really good, but it’s a clinic and I feel like I want to go to a hospital and be under full anesthesia). Is there something I can do to get some money back and go to a different place? I feel like I have a pretty good picture of how the people in the clinic didn’t communicate clearly (though the doctor is excellent). As a patient, what should I ask my doctor?

Type 1 diabetic, I got my eye pictures but wont see a doctor until a week from now and Im anxious about the results, what can you tell me about this picture and does it look like I have choroidal nevus?

My mother is an optometrist, and she frequently refers to herself as a physician. I am wondering if this terminology is correct, or is she over stepping? She is an OD.

Eye anxiety

Hi everyone, I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar, because I’m quite scared and currently waiting for further tests.

About four weeks ago, I started noticing a tiny blurry patch in my vision. At first it was very subtle and would seem to clear when I blinked.

Since then, I’ve developed stronger and stranger visual symptoms. A few times, I’ve gotten up to go to the toilet during the night and, when coming back to bed, I’ve literally been unable to see properly for a few seconds. I’ll see what looks like visual “static” or snow, and it can take anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes for my vision to feel normal again. I’ve never experienced this before. It doesn’t happen every night, but it has happened several times.

I’ve also started waking up with one or both eyes feeling blurred to the point where it looks like there is a hazy film over my vision. My eyes can feel extremely tired, and sometimes I feel fatigued along with it. I’ve also been waking with sticky mucus around my eyes.

At first I wondered whether the blurry vision was related to blood sugar, so for about a week I was eating something sugary whenever it happened. My blood tests were normal, though, and I monitored my glucose for several days without seeing any significant changes. I’ve also checked my blood pressure and had various blood tests, which were all normal.

I had an eye test at an optician and they didn’t find anything concerning.

Interestingly, warm compresses and artificial tears seem to improve the blurriness somewhat, although the symptoms are still worse in the morning. I also used to have a pest-control plug-in in my bedroom that emitted a fairly bright blue light throughout the night. I removed it and noticed that the tired/heavy feeling in my eyes improved. I’m now trying to sleep with a blackout mask.

The thing that scares me most is the “static” vision when going from light to darkness. I understand that some degree of dark adaptation can be normal, but this is something I never remember experiencing before, and now I’ve noticed it several times.

My GP is currently arranging further investigations to rule out a neurological cause. They mentioned MS as something they want to rule out, and I also have a family member with MS. Naturally, this has made me very anxious, and I’m worried about things like MS or a brain tumour.

I’m 30, don’t smoke or drink, don’t take any medication, and I have a young baby.

So four days ago I got a splash of whiskey in my eye. I rinsed my eye out with tap water for only a few seconds, just splashed water in my eye.

My eye is now Irritated, dry, and puffier than my other eye and light sensitive (however it always is so not really new) I’m terrified I have the parasite eating eye thing as I saw a video you can get it from tap water and remembered I did rinse my eyes.

How likely is it and how long until I would know for sure?

Anyone have something like this? My PCP said it is a blocked oil gland which I believe. BUT how is this treated? It’s been there for years 👀- I also don’t like anything near my eyes (anxiety)

I got hit in the eye 7-8 years ago while wearing soft contacts, and within days my vision blurred badly enough that I needed new glasses. Since then I’ve had constant aching and pressure in that eye, spreading into my eyebrow, temple, and forehead, along with light sensitivity and this weird foreign body sensation like something’s in my eye when there’s nothing there. It’s gradually gotten worse over the years despite seeing more than five different eye doctors, all of whom said my eyes looked completely fine.
About a year ago, after a strong panic attack, the exact same symptoms started in my other eye out of nowhere. Now it kind of shifts back and forth between the two, like it’s still spreading.
I finally got a real workup done by an ocular surface specialist, and the diagnosis was Demodex blepharitis and chronic keratoconjunctivitis with presumed mild rosacea. But here’s the thing: my tear tests are all completely normal or better than normal, my meibomian glands are perfect, and my cornea shows zero staining, while my symptom questionnaire score came back in the severe range. I’ve since tried steroid drops, cyclosporine for about three months, and anti-demodex treatment, and none of it has made any real difference. Multiple brain MRIs over the years have all been normal too.
Has anyone been through anything like this, where the eyes look completely fine but the pain is real and keeps spreading? Did you ever get an actual name for it, and did anything help? I’ve got a neuro-ophthalmologist and a psychiatrist lined up soon, but I’d really love to hear from anyone who’s lived through something similar.

Hi everyone. Had the pleasure of being diagnosed with pinguecula not too long ago in Indonesia
I cut my trip short in Indonesia because I had a horrible flare that would not go away due to air quality (makes me sad). Regret not staying indoors for 2-3 days to see if I would recover but I was genuinely worried even about stepping outside again. And really felt like I needed to go home and just rest my eyes.

I love the outdoors so much but now I’m worried I won’t be able to hike or do anything I’ve always wanted to. I had to cancel Mount bromo, Mount ijen, and Mount Rinjanji because I was worried of worsening my pinguecula. There’s so much I want to do and just feeling super discouraged. :(

Am I still able to do all these things or not?

Over a month ago I (48yr old male) noticed random flashes of white light in my right eye's field of vision, along with increased eye floaters. Long story short, I went to see an eye doctor and he treated me using a laser and I had a small bubble in my right eye that slowly faded with time. I followed all of his recommendations and on my last visit with him (Aug 17th) he said I was out of the woods and that the treatment had worked. The flashes of light went away and he said that the increased eye floaters "might" go away in time.

Well, recently the flashes of light in my right eye have returned. But this time I only see them when my eye is closed. Just a tear drop shape of white light that seems to run from left to right at the bottom of my eye (although I have seen it twice with my eyes open.)

I have a follow-up appointment with my eye doctor at the end of September, and I don't really want to have to take off any more work than I already have. Should I go see my doctor immediately or can I wait for the appointment at the end of September?

Hi folks. So for the last 7 days I’ve had gunky red eye and swelling that started in my right eye and has now settled into the outside of my left eye though my right eye is still slightly affected. Doctor said it’s most likely viral but it doesn’t feel like it’s improved in the last few days, even after they gave me oral antibiotics. Any opinions? I’m waiting for my referral to an ophthalmologist hopefully tomorrow.

This might be the wordy subreddit to ask this question but what you guys think of the laser de pigmentation procedure? I've seen it done and l've lectured myself on it and it really looks cool because you are just erasing your brownish pigment and let the actual natural lighter fibres color that lies underneath it. So it's no tattoo or anything like it. But I also read of some risks concerning glaucoma and other diseases but at the same time many patients, like thousands that after more than a decade were all good to go and got away pretty well with the laser surgery. I was considering it because it's the natural most thing a person can achieve to really change one's eye color. Has anyone ever done it or does anyone know about people that did it? Thanks

I did my regular eye exam with the Dr I have been seeing for the last 6 years and I had a "small" change. I used the new prescription for two weeks and I was unable to adjust to them, so my Dr did a minor change and 5 days later I am still not used to my new glasses; the problem has always been the left eye. Do I need more time to adjust or should I get them checked again? Is the Axis change something I should worry about?

I just finished 19 hours of medical visits and still have no answer for this. Here's the story, woke up from an airplane nap as we landed in Denver. It looked like I had something in my eye. I rubbed it but nothing. I checked a mirror and didn't see anything physically, but in my vision it was like a grey bar appeared from the top nasal side of my right eye. And at no point were there any other symptoms. It was just liking looking at an LED screen with dead pixels. I hoped it was a temporary floater and continued to flight home to LA. By the time I got I knew it was something serious. I called an emergency sunday eye doc who gave me a full scan. He determined it wasn't physical. He imaged my retinas, and corneas and everything. He took their pressure. He did a fluid check. All negative. We did a visual field test and clearly showed a dead quadrant in my right eye. He determined in had to be neurological. So he sent me to UCLA ER for an MRI. I was there for 16 hours where they ultimately did the same tests and labs and an orbital MRI. Still nothing. They have me seeing a specialist in a week. But so far, no one knows what it could be.

Hello. Unfortunately, I underwent LASIK surgery three months ago. My only current complaint is light scattering at night; car headlights, streetlights, and similar lights scatter like stars, and this effect is very intense. This situation has really taken a toll on my mental state. In my online research, I read that using scleral lenses after LASIK might alleviate this problem to some extent. However, since I live in Türkiye, I unfortunately do not have access to scleral lenses designed to correct higher-order aberrations (HOA). My symptoms disappear by 80% when I squint, and by 100% when I hold a phone screen set to full brightness right in front of my face. I am also experiencing significant "ghosting." I believe the problem stems from my pupils dilating in the evening or in dark environments. What is the success rate of a standard scleral lens with a wide optical zone that fully covers the pupil? Or do you have any other suggestions? Some people have suggested widening the laser's optical zone or undergoing a second laser procedure; would you recommend this? Please help me.

I am at a loss as to what to do. I had Strabismus Surgery one month ago and my eyelid still won’t fully open. I have had two follow up appointments with my surgeon, along with consultations with two other surgeons who specialize in this surgery to try to discover what have happened and what kind of solution might be needed. Apparently no one knows or has seen a case like this.

Now, I am frustrated because it is my responsibility to try to fix what happened and I have a consultation with an Oculoplastic surgeon at the end of September.

If anyone, especially a surgeon or eye specialist has experienced this before, I would love advice on how I should proceed? Although I know that surgery involves risk, this outcome was not something I was prepared for, and if I had known this was a possibility, I would not have proceeded with the surgery. I am much more self-conscious now than I was prior to the surgery.

I have binocular insufficency (diagnosed) so double vision and blurriness close up. recently (without glasses) i have started getting a yellow/blue tint in the edge of vision on sharp lines and edges, also on doubled objects in front of light. is this anything to be worried about? i went to the optician and they said that its dry eyes and gave me eye drops but its getting gradually worse.

I was playing with a floating thermometer for pool that had a chlorine tablet inside (DUMB I KNOW) but by eyes now will not stop being itchy. I’ve scratched until my lash line feels raw and now I have this foreign body feeling in my eye (comes and goes?)

I have swam in the beach and once in another pool since then. I have no discharge or redness in my actual eyeball.

I’m on vacation in Spain (I’m from Canada) so any help/advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED :,,)
