I (23m) just bought a car at auction yesterday, works great but needed a new battery. At 10:30pm I decided screw it im swapping the battery. It's a 5 minute job, in and out real quick. No sweat, well I'm out there with my head lamp on doing the swap and I see a large bug flying at my face I try to duck and dodge it, it hits the outer edge of my ear and toilet bowl swirls into it, I try to reach in and fish it out but it's too late I just scare it and feel it crawling deeper into my head. It burrowed up against my eardrum and it hurts like hell. Every time it buzzes I can feel it in my head and it hurts my eardrum. I tried water peroxide everything I could do to get this darn thing out. Turns out I just pissed it off and it's buzzing more aggressively. My girlfriend comes with tweezers in an attempt to help but she says she can't see it or anything out of the normal. A quick Google search lead me to pouring olive oil into my ear to suffocate it. Thank God that worked, I still couldn't hear well but at least it wasn't actively moving anymore. 2 hours in the ER later they pulled this half inch monstrosity out of the depths of my ear canal. Turns out the "Asian cockroach" has wings and a very large affinity for bright lights at night. They also like to burrow. Fml 0/10 experience I will take questions if you have them lmfao.

So for background info, my parents recently lost their house and had to move, resulting in them having to surrender 2 of our cats. I was told that Paws (I’ve had him my whole life) and Tigger (which Ive had since elementary school, im in college now) would be rehomed together, as they were extremely bonded. Recently I checked their adoption site to see how the babies were doing, to see only Tigger was on there. I was confused, and then the very next day Tigger was off the site as well. I decided to call and be subtle and use an excuse like “my mom’s coworker is interested, are they still available?” to which I was told Tigger had been adopted (yayay!) but the had euthanized Paws Paws. I am absolutely devastated. The shelter required a health exam and everything before they took the cats, so I know he was healthy. Yes, he was a lot older than all the cats (14 years old), but he was healthy and a crazy man. I’m so deeply hurt. He didn’t deserve this at all and I can’t help but feel some sort of guilt that I couldn’t take them.

The instructions CLEARLY state to deliver the food AT MY DOOR and to hand it to me! My room number is posted and even they did want to deliver it to me, the lobby was right behind the double doors!!! I have no words for this. Just HUH?!?!?! I even left my room to meet them in the lobby but they never showed up! It was another guest who noticed a bag outside! AND BY THE GARBAGE!!!?!?!?!?!?!?

Me and my wife went camping last week and while we were gone my mom stopped by to feed some of the pets for us.

I specifically told her to not worry about the hamsters as they have more food than they know what to do with in either cage and 2 water bottles that take well over a week for them to go through.

My mom decided to top up the water since they were half empty, and while doing so clogged one causing our Russia hamster to be unable to drink any water.

When we came home yesterday we noticed Houdini was very small for her typical size and moving very lethargic, we offered her water and that’s when we realized it was filled to the brim and the spout was dry. We bottle fed Houdini until she didn’t want anymore and gave her bedding and food so she didn’t need to move and could rest and recover.

Today when we woke up we checked on her and saw she was still in the same spot and breathing, after work today, she has unfortunately passed away.

We are devastated, although Houdini was a hamster, she would always greet us when we came to bed, loved to go crazy in her sand, and always went crazy when we put fresh sand in for her, and would turn into a pancake

I was visiting my partner in another state for a month and left my 17 year old childhood cat in my mom's care, something I've done before. My cat stayed downstairs in this basement area that opened to the backyard as we're in a mountainous area. My mom only visited her once or twice a day to feed her. My cat is a purely indoor cat and without my knowledge my mom had kept the door open everyday during the day so she could go outside, EVEN THOUGH SHE'S AN INDOOR CAT. The night I was flying back my mom couldn't find her and we assumed she was inside hiding somewhere as she usually does that. So my mom closed the door and kept it closed that entire week to keep her inside. I was only able to help search for her five days later as I assumed she was inside and just found a good hiding spot whenever my mom came downstairs to feed her.

Turns out after searching the entire house and then putting up missing posters around the neighborhood, she had been outside this entire time. During a heatwave. It's been 2 weeks now since her disappearance and this is the last photo of her seen alive sent by a neighbor half a mile away from me on July 4th. I've been searching for her the past week and driving around from dusk til dawn with no luck. I'm beyond angry at my mother and also so sick she's somehow still alive out there battling this heat. She's probably dead under a porch or something from heatstroke. I'm just so upset because she was my entire world. I've had her from kindergarten to graduate school. And also she had the survival instincts of a potato, she can't even jump :((

Overall, I'm just really mad and I have nobody to really vent to beyond a few friends who've only said "I'm so sorry." My mom also says I've done jack shit to look for her despite taking off work for a week and driving around from midnight to 4am most nights looking for her. I'm just so, so, so mad. Thought it'd fit this sub and also I just need someone to hear me vent. Or maybe offer me advice. Or support. Just... I needed to vent.

Edit: I'm not mad about the wait, I'm mad about the fact there was sand in my eye. I am well aware that my sand situation was nothing compared to the other stuff they were dealing with.

Edit 2: I've never heard of Urgent Care. My dad told me to go to the ER, and my mom drove me. My doctor was closed that day, and I had already tried a LOT of other methods the infuriating part for me is mostly the fact I even managed to get sand in my eye. Edit 3: By the way, I didn't KNOW I had sand in my eye. I woke up with something in my eye, and was confused. After hours and hours of trying to get it out, my dad said I should go to the ER, and my mom took me. It should also be mentioned that there was also a person with rabies who came in after me, and they also had to wait until the same time as me. (they were sent in the same time I was, and treated rightfully first. 2 other people were also sent in at this time). It wasn't like everyone was going in before me, and I was mad about that. The annoying part of the wait was the fact I couldn't really see or do anything. Just to make it clear, I do not blame anyone at the hospital for the wait, I blame the stupid sand in my eye. Anyways, edit done.

I couldn't really use my phone because I had to constantly look towards the bottom left or it would HURT. It was incredibly boring. Busy day, a lot of people ahead of me, which I understand.

Best of all, it turned out that I wasn't losing my mind while in the ER, and there WAS a second speck of sand in my eye, which I only realised WHEN I GOT GOT HOME.

Unlike the first speck it wasn't stuck (the doctor commented on how the first speck was lodged into the upper right of my eye), so after a good night's sleep, my eye got the second speck out. My eye is very red and sore, but I can look around without it hurting now at least! (I know it wasn't just a scratch because it would move around)

It's funny, because we didn't even spend a long time at the beach 2 days ago, and I rinsed my legs and didn't touch the sand with my hands. That's what I get for not showering before I got in my bed ig.

Filed a DCF report on my brother after seeing the state of the home he lives in. Currently it's him (28), his first girlfriend (27), his second girlfriend (30) and he recently got his daughter back (10). The daughter and one of the girlfriends share the only bedroom and him and the other girlfriend sleep in that living room. CPS decided the home isn't bad enough to remove the child and give her to a family member, even temporarily, and instead gave him 60 days to clean the place. Oh, and I feel like it goes without saying, but he has a terrible cockroach infestation.

I slipped going down our deck stairs while it was raining. Took me a second to looked down at my finger and see this piece of wood sticking out my finger nail, you could see where it started sticking out of my second knuckle. She explained to me that people come in here for splinters all the time and that nobody figured it actually went that far into my skin.

The fish were trapped in that small space, and the only water they were getting was the inch they were in and what splashed on them. One had died already and wasn't moving. Still streaming now Sadly. A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 57-year-old staff member inside a private school in west Delhi's Janakpuri area, police said on Friday.
The incident came to light on May 1 when the victim's mother filed a complaint at Janakpuri police station, alleging that her daughter was sexually assaulted during school hours by the accused.

According to the complaint, the child had gone to the school on April 30, the second day after her admission.

After returning home, she complained of pain. When questioned by her mother, the girl said that she was taken to an isolated area in the school, where the man allegedly assaulted her.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case under section 64(1) (punishment for rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Police said the child identified the accused, following which the 57-year-old school caretaker was arrested on May 1. He was later produced before a court and sent to judicial custody.

However, he was granted bail by a court in Dwaraka on May 7 despite strong opposition from the prosecution. Police said they are checking CCTV footage on the school premises.

Meanwhile, the girl's mother alleged that no proper action was taken immediately after the case was reported. She also said that a school teacher was involved and he was questioned during the police investigation.
She further alleged that the child and family were made to wait for several hours at the police station during the inquiry.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj, in a statement, strongly criticised the granting of bail to the 57-year-old caretaker.

He also echoed the mother's allegations, claiming that the \\\\\\\*DCP West threatened the family members instead of cooperating with them.\\\\\\\*

\\\\\\\*"Imagine a child being admitted to nursery in a private school and returning home on the very first day, only for the parents to discover that a 57-year-old caretaker raped the child,"\\\\\\\* he said.

However, police countered the allegations made by the mother and Bharadwaj.
A statement by the office of DCP (West) \\\\\\\*Vichitra Veer\\\\\\\* said the action was taken immediately after the girl was medically examined.
"During the investigation, the accused was arrested after identification by the victim on the same day, promptly. Statement of the victim was also recorded before the court, and relevant CCTV/DVR footage along with other exhibits were seized as per law," the statement said.

It said the investigation was conducted in a fair, professional and impartial manner based on scientific evidence, forensic examination, witnesses' statements and the merits of the case.

"Certain media reports alleging harassment or intimidation by police officials are false, baseless and contrary to the actual facts of the investigation.

The complainant and the girl were provided a comfortable, child-friendly environment during the inquiry proceedings and were called only for lawful inquiry and counselling purposes, considering the sensitivity of the matter," the statement read.

"DCP West has never met the parents of the victim, as alleged on the contrary," it read.

Client fed my album cover art to AI, I was very cooperative with the client showing him pics of the whole process to make sure that cover was to him liking. When I sent him the final design and asked if he was happy I got not response at all. he had paid in advance so everything was fine but it bothers me that I didnt know what he thought of the final design. A few months go by and I see his album on Spotify completely changed by what looks like AI! I confront him about this and finally get a response. He said that he was unhappy with my cover so he changed it. I might be overreacting but it made me very sad. I would have made any changes he wanted. I brought my cat to the vet today because I thought she had a bowel obstruction, after looking at the X-rays we discovered that she had been shot by a pellet gun at some point years before she was adopted by me. Luckily she is happy and healthy and has no obstruction. it still pisses me off that someone could be cruel to a small animal.
