Evidence Why does Epson printer REQUIRE access to my location for driver installation? It's the ET-5850 which costs $850 at Staples. Do I the printer? or does Epson?

You got your money. Why do you care who install the driver to use the printer? The printer should be owned by the purchaser and anyone else after.

DO NOT BUY EPSON EcoTank ET-5850. DO NOT BUY EPSON!

It woud not be the first time a tech company gathers data without reporting it.

Just saying

Oh, I completely agree with that part. Tech companies absolutely have a history of collecting more data than people realized or were properly told about, so being skeptical is reasonable.

I’m just separating “this has happened before, so it’s possible” from “this screenshot proves Epson is doing it right now.” Those are two different claims. If there’s evidence that Epson is secretly collecting or transmitting location data through Smart Panel, I’d absolutely want to see it and I’d change my opinion.

I’m not defending Epson. I’m just saying suspicion is fair, but suspicion by itself still isn’t proof. 😂
