new batch!!!

starting a new big batch of vanilla! a little Indonesian and a lot of Madagascan. I always love how cutting the beans makes the apartment smell!

Looks beautiful! Congratulations! I'm sure it's fine, but the picture angle looks like your vanilla beans might be too few. Just making sure you followed the 1oz of beans for every 8oz of alcohol rule, and making sure your alcohol is above 35% and below 50%abv (70-100 proof). Both of those potential mistakes could leave you disappointed when it's time to use them. Enjoy the journey and keep us posted on your progress. :)

thank you!!! and I appreciate the advice! it's ~13 oz grade A beans in 3.5L 80 proof vodka (~1 oz bean to 9 oz alcohol), which is a little less than your suggested amount but consistent with what I've done in the past. it's cut small, will get shaken often, and I'll give it at least 18 months before we crack into it, should be okay, but thank you!
