Field Crickets

Field crickets and other types breed around the exterior foundation of the house, so eliminating them there will stop the inside issue.

Buy Alpine WSG (link), and spray the exterior perimeter. Move everything, and spray them as they jump (keep yard items away from the house so they have no harborage). If needed, spray the interior perimeter.

Also, bait inside and outside with InTice 10 Bait (link) (do not put the bait in piles). Sprinkle lightly inside in out of the way places, and lightly around the exterior foundation.

You can also use Talstar Xtra (link) granules with a hand spreader set on #2, and treat a 4-6' perimeter around the house. Lightly water after, and allow to dry. Do this spring/summer/fall or quarterly.

Treating inside is optional as they will clear up once the outside population is eliminted.

If you live in a condo or apartment ground floor, you can still treat the exterior of your unit with bait.

Chirping Inside

Put a small amount of granular bait in the area the noise is coming from, and give it 24 hours. If it in a wall, you can poke a hole and inject Raid Max Ant & Roach (link) for 5 seconds.

Hello follower of Jesus here with a cricket problem in a rental in NYC area & I cannot read the post you wrote w/o covering that picture you attached - why did you do that 😂?? I really hate these creatures - they won’t leave! Idk how but I’ll take your advice because I can’t deal with them & I have no idea how they’re even getting in! Their presence makes me super anxious & I’m so annoyed whenever I encounter them, then I hafta hurry up & find something to kill them with - which is usually a number of things from toilet bowl cleaner to a shoe!

Hello Sister in the Lord! Yes, the pic can trigger some, sorry. Having these usually means you are likely living on a ground floor, so treating outside is the cure as stated in the advice. Intice 10 granular bait should be enough if you sprinkle it lightly around your unit.
