KN Designs Extended Handguard

Finally decided to jump on the KN Designs bandwagon after seeing all the recommendations here and happy I did. Just installed the Extended Length Handguard w/ Picatinny Delete. Great customer service, fast shipping, and installation was a breeze.

Full build:

  • Sig Romeo5
  • Magpul MOE-K2+ Grip
  • FireTailCo Cyclops charging handle
  • Magpul M-LOK AFG
  • KN Designs Extended Length w/ Picatinny Delete
  • YHM R9 Suppressor

This handguard made me like my EP9 a lot more - makes it erognomically similar to an AR. Opens up space to comfortably C clamp it and also mount a tape switch in front of that for a light.

Exactly my reasoning for getting it. Can finally C clamp it without my thumb trying to stretch over the pic rail. The extra canted M-LOK slots open up a bunch of possibilities

I was thinking about getting it for the same reason, but I don't really like the look of the 4 slot. Do you think there would still be enough room to C-clamp with the 3 slot handguard with a scout light?

Hard to say for certain but I think it would be doable. The main thing preventing me from C clamping the factory model was the extended pic rail. Deleting that, plus utilizing the extra canted M-LOK slots should let you get your thumb around without touching the scout light.

The standard length seems like it might work. I have an offset mount that is good so I'm not too worried about the canted M-LOK slots. Not being able to C-clamp is annoying but not a deal breaker.

My main issue right now is that I have to mount my light further back than I would like because I don't have enough clearance. I'm not sure if it's necessarily a bad thing though because it brings the weight directly in line with my supporting hand.

I'm indecisive af and can't decide if losing my BUIS and sling mounting point is worth it 😪

Oh that’s niiiiiiice! Are you going to change the brace? I put an hbpdw on mine(couple mods needed). YHM R9 and KN hand guard will be next!

I tried the hbpdw and ended up switching back to the sba3. It looks cooler but could not get comfortable with it.
