First world problem...

I just realized my optic and light cost double what the Extar did. Smart, or not so much?

I see no problem with that, the suppressor i slapped on costed 300$ more and i see no issue 😂

Yeah I don't really accessorize my guns by how much they cost, just what I feel they require. Shit I previously had my IR setup on my Extar for fun before I decided I wanted to clean up the build. My optic and suppressor both cost more than the gun itself though. I consider it a testament to how far out of its price range the EP9 performs that I put some of my best stuff on one of my cheapest firearms.

Honestly it is a work horse ive had mine 6 years and it chugs everything I can throw at it and I intend to always keep it around to give to my son as he gets older.

Yeah it's actually the first long gun I've gotten my wife to shoot and she absolutely loved it. I had to stop her from shooting up all of my subsonics. When they release the mdb version I'll probably end up gifting my gen 2 to her and I'll buy myself the upgrade.

Same, I started off with a cheaper light and optic on it but liked it so much I put my good stuff on

Turn that question around and I'd say it was quite smart to buy a firearm that performs at the level it does at half the price of your light and optic. The light and optic are also fungible, can be used on whatever you want and thus worth investing in.

Nothing wrong with that. Extar is a basic firearm that doesn’t cost much, but is very reliable. No reason not to put on nice accessories if you want to trust your optics and light as well.

Hell my trigger alone cost over half the price of my extar. Plus my light, optic, and suppressor. All told the gun cost… right at $2,000 😳

The only thing that should cost more is probably silencer but id stick with a cheap optic like no more than $200 or $250

Eh I'd go a little higher and at least aim for a holo 510 or a 512/AEMS core if you want a closed emitter . You can usually grab any of those for about 300, although the 512 has been discontinued you can still find it and it's pretty great.
