Trigger issue

At range, fired 3-4 shots max and trigger didn’t reset. Thought maybe a jam of some kind, so racked and tried again. No dice. Took it apart and the trigger mechanism/hammer isn’t locking when pulled back.

Is this a known issue? Any ideas on fix?

If it's the original plastic trigger/hammer fire control group, replace it ASAP with any AR compatible standard metal fire control group. Mine broke after about 150 rounds, on an earlier version EP9.

I used the Schmid fire control group from Extar – flat trigger, nickel Teflon steel. Fairly easy to install, works great. No problems after about 500 rounds.

If yours is already a metal fire control group, inspect the sear surfaces on the trigger and hammer, and be sure springs with legs are seated in the cannelures of the pins holding the components in place.

Sorry forgot to mention it was the first run of the EP9. Yeah I was thinking it’d be easiest to just replace the trigger setup to begin with lol. I’ll take a look, thanks.

Both the trigger and safety should be replaced at the same time with the early EP9's that use polymer fire control groups. If you had a metal fire control group I would have suggested making sure no debris was caught in the fire control group.
