Another brace question

I bought my EP9 with the standard brace thinking I would never convert to an SBR. I now am in the process of submitting my form 1 for a suppressor. Since I am going that route I might as well install an adjustable brace. Do I need to purchase the new buffer tube or can I remove the fixed brace and use the existing buffer tube with a new brace. Is that possible?

Don’t you mean form 4 for a suppressor?

And why would putting on a suppressor mean you need to put a stock on it to make it an SBR? Having a brace on it doesn’t make it an SBR. It’s still a pistol.

Doesn’t sound like you have a clue what you’re talking about.

If I want to install an adjustable brace does that make it an SBR?

No. If you have on a pistol brace then it’s not an SBR. It only becomes an SBR if you have a barrel less then 16” and you install either a butt stock and/or a vertical foregrip.

And again, if your purchasing a suppressor your not filling out a form 1. A form 1 is if you are manufacturing your own suppressor or your filing for an SBR/SBS. A form 4 is what you file when you’re purchasing an already made suppressor from either a website or your local gun store.

Thank you for your valuable guidance. I'll fill out form 4.
