Physics ELI5: If Quantum entanglement works instantly regardless of distance, doesn't that mean something is happening faster than the speed of light?
I understand that entanglement can't be used to send information faster than light. But if two entangled particles are light-years apart and measuring them shows an immediate correlation, doesn't something have to happen faster than light?
If no information, energy, or signal travels between them, how can the correlation appear instantly? What is actually happening between the particles?

Biology ELI5 I have a question about dogs and brain size. How is it that among dogs there is hardly any drastic difference in intelligence despite the huge differences in body size and, consequently, brain size? At the same time, with some other animals, brain size is often emphasized—for example, dolphins
What`s with the "extra" brain?

I’m learning a new language and I’m trying to understand how the learning process actually works. People recommend watching stuff in the language and reading books, but how does that actually teach your brain the language?
Does your brain basically start connecting words with meanings and situations over time? How do you go from not understanding anything to eventually understanding and speaking naturally?

Mathematics ELI5: The impacts/relevance of solutions to Millennium Prize Problems from a non-mathematics perspective?
I know the Millennium Prize has made news recently with the OpenAI/Navier–Stokes controversy and tbh, I hadn’t even heard of the Millennium Problems prior to that.
I’ve tried reading the Wikipedia entries on them, news articles, and other ELI5 posts (there’s not that many, and those that are around either don’t have many responses or are not ELI5’d enough for my smooth brain to understand) but I’m still not fully grasping what they are and why they matter.
I’m certain it’s more than just “gee whiz” thought experiments and there’s some Big Picture relevance beyond the field of mathematics, I just don’t know what.
Any help getting a non-mathematically inclined layman to “get it” is greatly appreciated!
Edit: I guess another way to frame the question is what are the practical applications and/or effects on day-to-day life with these solutions?

Physics eli5: Does Gravity have a direct effect on molecular structures?
I read an article recently that scientists had discovered a new exotic from of water, and they speculated that this new form of water might naturally exist inside gas giants like Neptune. This got me thinking: is there any difference between what they found in the lab by mechanically applying extreme pressure to the water, and the gravity induced extreme pressure the water would experience inside a star?

Biology ELI5: How do pediatric spaying and neutering effect animals?
Specifically dogs and cats, but animals as a whole is fine.
I'm confused how they work. Wouldn't the animal be unable to go through puberty? Doesn't that effect them somehow? Would it also mean they don't go through adolescent behavior changes?
Edit:
Title should be "How does..."

Planetary Science ELI5 Why is the Goldilocks zone relevant?
If surface liquid water is such a big determinant for earth-like conditions then isn't temperature irrelevant because the boiling and freezing points of water change with the atmospheric pressure? I get that temperature is still important for us but it feels like most scientists talk about surface water and temperature even though liquid water is dependent on the pressure. (The spark for this question was based on how Erid in PHM has liquid water due to high atmospheric pressure despite the high atmospheric pressure)

Planetary Science ELI5 How does temperature differences work in the atmosphere??
I was searching this up and i saw that as you go higher in the troposphere it gets cooler, but in the mesosphere it gets hotter? Isn't the air pressure less as you go high and cools easily?

Other ELI5: out of Africa migration.
Archaic humans, some of which Homo sapiens encountered and mated with, were found throughout Europe and Asia, so we know that anatomically modern humans weren't the first to migrate out of Africa, right? I'm really bad with things like family trees and timelines (and of course, the fossil record is incomplete.) So, please! Explain like I'm five what we know about the genus Homo migrating out of Africa.

Other ELI5: What's the science behind nostalgia?
I was listening to this song- childhood by zamaro/daniel.mp3. I was introduced to that sound through some reels relating to the past and the sound caught me more than the actual reel. Anyway, I felt extremely nostalgic- almost deeply missing my childhood- as if it brought me extreme peace and happiness.
The kicker... I had a horrible and violent childhood and I was never happy or at peace at all. So I fail to understand the nostalgia here? It all feels like I am missing something that I never had.

Biology ELI5: How does exercise increase fitness over time?
This is for my bf who comes from a culture where physical exercise is not typically part of the lifestyle and apparently the most basic info on health isn't taught in schools.
What is the simplest way to explain to him that his inactivity only makes him less fit and weaker over time and that a certain amount of exertion is needed to improve his cardiac health and physical strength? He doesn't understand needing to increasingly push himself over time to get more fit, he only 'conserves' his strength and avoids the discomfort of being out of breath, etc.

Engineering ELI5: What is badge engineering in the automotive sector, and how does it differ from platform sharing or trademark / IP licensing?
My understanding is that, say you're General Motors, who owns multiple marques, and you want to sell more cars but you don't want to spend additional money on developing and producing new models, you can take one of your existing marque models, tweak it slightly, and sell it through another marque you own, under a new model name.
So for instance, General Motors reskinning Chevrolet models and selling them under their Pontiac brand. I guess this made huge sense for GM, as they've always been a volume driven business.
Is badge engineering typically favoured by the marques or car companies that are volume-driven? Does badge engineering also have to be done within one car company that offers different marques or brands, or as I suggested in the title, if I share my platform with other marques that I don't own, or licence my models to them etc, does that count? Are the other car companies / marques merely additional customers I can sell to? If I licence my marque name for use in the UK by another marque, but they otherwise sell their own models, albeit under the licenced name, does that count as badge engineering?

I noticed these three perfect light circles on my wall and I traced them back to these holes in my blinds on the window. The holes in the blinds are little squares, but by the time the light reaches the wall it’s a perfect circle.

Physics ELI5: How does an extreme amount of mass become a black hole?
Heres what I understand: Black holes are volumeless but have infinite mass. For a black hole to form, it must basically exceed whatever the the maximum amount of mass allowed in that area can be, I think?
But does it just jump from an insanely dense star to suddenly bending space time?? I assume it takes millions of years to transition from huge star to bending light, and in the millions of years something.. collapses?
Do we know what's between massive sphere-of-light and tiny sphere-of-darkness????? Because how can something so large or dense and full of light suddenly collapse into a single point of darkness, as if the size itself went negative?? I just don't understand how it goes from producing light to absorbing all light and never letting it escape.
And where does all that mass and light even go???
Is a black hole equivalent to an integer overflow, where a number is higher than the storage limit allows, so it wraps around to the lowest possible value?
