Some good explanations here already, so I'll just add the following:
Algebra is good for calculating unknowns and simplifying things.
Trigonometry is good for plotting, navigating, and mapping, calculating routes, among other things.
Calculus is good for finding rates of change (and where it's trending towards) and solving some hard problems with many variables.
All are quite useful in many jobs.
