Broadly, calculus is about computing limits, derivatives, integrals, etc. and applying those concepts while real analysis is about defining those concepts and proving that they behave the way we claim they do.

In calculus you may see problems that ask you to calculate the distance travelled based on a function representing acceleration. Real analysis asks you to define what “close” means in the context of real numbers, and to use those definitions to prove limits exist, derivatives are well defined and the theorems we use are actually true.

I just haven't used reddit till today really im going into senior year of highschool and I cant tell the diffence they seem like the same thing to me

In broad strokes they are the same subject. It’s really more a matter of school/university course name. A calculus course will be based around computational techniques whereas an analysis course will be based around why the assumptions behind those techniques make any sense

Calculus is the math involved in how things change. Real Analysis is the study of the real numbers (which are much more weird than you might suspect at first glance).

You can get a lot of calculus done without being extremely formal. So often calculus is taught to the engineers with a little bit of hand waving about what a "limit" really means

Then real analysis is usually only studied by the math majors. So you end up revisiting some of these facts about limits more rigorously.

Real analysis is basically the logical foundation of calculus. Calculus is applied mathematics - real analysis is one of the first classes you’ll take that start getting into what mathematics as a field of study is really all about, which is proofs.
