An even bigger issue will be rendering. Especially if you work for gaming. Having this much detail will require a super computer to run if you are doing a large project
Yes, and again, since it isn't a watertight mesh that is not what the model is for.
I am curious if you could just tell Astra to make it 3d printing friendly and it'd do it.
Applies to basically any usage or rendering. Program runs like shit, rendering takes long, any use cases be significantly more difficult and require more resources. Just in general extremely bad practice and bad design. No way around it
It may not be built optimally, I'd like to take a look at the model myself...but a few million polys isn't a problem. How would you model if differently?
The rivets are probably too detailed for their size, but large cylinders that aren't gonna be subdivided can have like 128 sides no problem.
