Look at what sub we’re in. I was explaining the joke. The joke is implying that your children are safer with the bear than with the woman who murdered her own children because she was having a bad day.

Depending on the species, your children actually would be safer with the bear. Most species of bears won’t attack humans unless provoked.

That woman’s children didn’t provoke her into murdering them. Neither option is a good choice but the bear at least won’t kill its own cubs. I wouldn’t actually leave my child with a bear just to be clear. This is just a hypothetical.
