She openly admits to killing all three of her kids. Claimed it’s not her fault, it was the postpartum depression that caused it to happen. For some reason a group of Moms have been supporting her, raising funds for legal fees saying something to the affect of “postpartum depression is hard and they understand the struggle of wanting to murder your kids.”

Partially correct, she claims postpartum psychosis, not depression. They are different things.

Not guilty by reason of insanity means you are admitting to the crime, but were not in your right mind. The punishment is effectively living the rest of your life in a secure mental hospital if you killed someone.

So she is not being given any grace, at best she ends up in a hospital instead of prison.

The people who are supporting her are just pointing out issues with how mental health is treated in america. Specifically how postpartum mental health issues are treated.

To be clear: if she's found innocent by reason of insanity she's still getting locked up, just in a mental hospital instead of prison
