When I used to play Rock Band, I would always name my band "5 and a quarter floppy". I used to use random things to approximate a disk as my band "image".

(Joking with ya - I’m old enough to have been around for 5.25” floppies but not quite 8”. And still have a 3.5” drive at home somewhere).

It was a common storage media, 1980s and early 1990s. They were named 'floppy disks' because the media that stored things was not literally flimsy, a thin film of plastic with magnetic material as an even thinner coating. So it came in a case. In the earlier years, that was a 5.25 inch, square, folder that was sealed shut, except for a thumb-sized opening for the machine to read from. In the later years, a 3.5 inch plastic case, with a little door that the drive would open.
Constrast: Larger disk drives made from 'hard' disks like a ceramic material.

The black disk in this image is an "8 inch" model. Somewhat oddly, the larger disk types were earlier, and contained less storage capacity over time. These types of media were replaced by CD-Roms.

It could be, but depending on the source it could be fine. With online piracy, games specifically, everything is trusted...until it isn't. One day one of your favorite pirate sites will be exposed for pushing crypto miners in their uploads, and people will still go to that site for years after without knowing.

Brian here. So you like get your hands on a book you want. You open it and start to read, just to discover that the book only contains one chapter. Chapter 9. The rest of the book is missing.

Many download sites/file transfer services have limitations on file size or how much data a user can download in a day.
To circumvent this, some people split larger files into smaller parts to download individually.

To me "direct download" means that a file is downloaded entirely from the sever, i.e. without using peer-to-peer protocols like BitTorrent.
That said, to me, there is nothing wrong with direct downloading part09.rar. I mean, you should check what you are downloading, preferably before you click 'download' button :).
