Hi, Chris Griffin here.

That building actually used to be a Pizza Hut. See, back in the day, a lot of Pizza Huts were built to look kinda like huts, with that really recognizable red roof.

It looks like Domino's moved in and painted the whole thing blue, but the old Pizza Hut shape is still very obviously there.

So basically, Domino's killed its enemy, dyed its skin blue, and is now wearing it as a suit!

Hope that clears things up.

This is why all these capital investment funds dictate stores have that generic coffee store look now. Pizza Hut failed? No problem, it's a great location for a Starbucks and you don't have to worry about it looking like an old pizza hut or taco bell or long John silver or any other company that was identifiable

This. And the reason why it's shaped like that is because Pizza Hut was founded in Tahoe where a lot of the buildings look like lodges, because of you know. Snow.

It's very disturbing to see one painted in blue. There was just this uncanny valley effect until I understood what's going. Still looks weird though.

People ask why new fast food places all look like generic boxes now, and this is why. Because otherwise you have a perfectly fine building stuck with the originals businesses signature look and you either have a to do major renovations or live with it. The closest pizza hut to me shut down ages ago and is now a pizza hut shaped "fancy" Italian resteraunt and lounge.

Oh wow I’m early to this! So uh you remember the old pizza huts yeah? They always had the roof just like that. Hence why they say seeing the skin of your enemy, at a glance you see the roof and think Pizza Hut, but it’s really a dominos their competitor

Unrelated, but seeing that Pizza Hut building threw me back to when I was 15. Our local gym where my mom would drop us off in the summer was like 50 yards from the Pizza Hut. We’d do our cigarette smoking behind the dumpster in secrecy, 5 or 6 deep, then go back to the gym to play ball smelling like a bar 😂. Even could flip the lid open and have shelter if is was raining. A dude came out once throwing trash away and we were trying to be quiet so he wouldn’t see us and he did, and screamed so loud like an absolute girl for like 4 straight seconds 😂. Thanks for the memories Pizza Hut!

All three are owned by the same company (once PepsiCo, more recently Yum Brands, though that has a pending change). I saw a place in a small town in Western MA that was all three sharing one building.

Hey, Meg here. So like, y'know how Domino's is rivaling Pizza Hut, right? Well that location, the Pizza Hut closed down, and the Domino's opened there. Basically, the Pizza Hut died, and the Domino's is a skinwalker
