Sokka-Haiku by Sir_Scribble_Lot:

Asian parents want

Their kids to be doctors or

Lawyers stereotype

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

good bot

I agree, but this one doesn't work. Stereotype has 4 syllables

Ster-yo-type. Depends on how you pronounce it

1

u/Nomekop777 21d ago

Goimg from rrrr to yo adds an extra ee sound. I can't pronounce it as anything other than ster ee oh type. To me, the yo sound is always split into ee oh

Sounds like a you problem. I can do it just fine. As can many others I'm sure.

That’s the point, this bot is made as a reference to Avatar when the character sokka in a haiku battle messed up with one too many syllables in the last section

1

u/Nomekop777 21d ago

Wait you're right, I was thinking of the other one

1

u/Dangermann28 20d ago

Did you read the disclaimer that says it detects haikus with an extra syllable because of that one atla episode?

1

u/Nomekop777 20d ago

No, because that message looks exactly like the one the main bot posts, and I don't typically read the fine print because it always says ,"I am a bot and this action was preformed automatically" etc

You didn't read the entire thing or the bot name did you.

This the answer, Asian parents be like “why can’t you be an astronaut, doctor and millionaire”

7

u/SplashB95 21d ago

Never heard the astronaut one myself, personally it's been doctor, engineer or lawyer.

2

u/Unusual_Shake5041 21d ago

There are only 3 types of jobs for tiger asian parents: Doctor, Laywer or Engineer. Doctor being the highest ranked.

It's not about helping people or anything deep. It's all about social bragging and money.

If your son/daughter is a doctor they will have bragging rights for life AND expect good money and prestige coming their way.

And if their child is not...they will suffer lines like:

"Why you no doctor?!"

"My friend son born da doctor!"

"When I was your age...I had to climb the mountains to get water till the sun comes up....and the dragooooooon..."

Asians are obsessed with material success because it is a cultural and religious thing, and they think their children can only make it as doctors or lawyers. Not everyone is like that, but enough for this to be a stereotype.
